Another pair of days, another set of people to be brought in. Let's not waste any time on this, shall we?

**Please note only the winners of each section get in this time. Please also remember to only vote for 1 person per cluster.**

Okay, voted.

Good luck to those trying to make it in on round 2.

O.K, divine intervention beat me last time - let's see what happens here...

Votes;

1) Nagisa Furukawa (Clannad)
2) Nenene Sumiregawa (ROD The TV)
3) Sora Naegino (Kaleido Star)
4) Tenma Tsukamoto (School Rumble)
5) Chika Ogiue (Genshiken)

And the only thing I am guaranteeing this round is that Jimmie M won't vote for Sora this time...dammit. :P

Ugh, Nagisa and Tomoyo from Clannad both in the same group.

Good luck to all who are involved.

Thanks for the vote, SotS. I returned the favor (although I didn't realize it at the time.)

Oh, and for those who ask, the seed for this round was just the order in which leftovers signed up, ensuring that I didn't pit 2 people against one another again. (This resulted in a small change to set 1 only.)

It'll quite likely turn out to be the same case for me, as well.

As before, only numbering the ones I care about enough to mention:

***SET 1 ENTRANTS***
1) Furukawa Nagisa (Clannad)
2) Kusanagi Motoko (Ghost in the Shell)
3) Sakagami Tomoyo (Clannad)

Oh man, seriously? Of all the possibly ways, we get Clannad vote split? And she's in a 4 person group too, that sucks. Well, obviously Nagisa gets my vote. DUNNO HATES CLANNAD!

***SET 2 ENTRANTS***
1) Sanzenin Nagi (Hayate no Gotoku)
2) Sumerigawa Nenene (ROD TV)
3) Ryoko (Tenchi Muyo)

Just like Nagisa, she was my pick last time and she's my pick this time.

***SET 3 ENTRANTS***
1) Naegino Sora (Kaleido Star)

Well that was easy.

***SET 4 ENTRANTS***
1) Tsukamoto Tenma (School Rumble)
2) Kururugi Suzaku (Code Geass)

Also easy. Poor Tenma's name is still incorrect. :sd:

***SET 5 ENTRANTS***
1) Tsukimiya Ayu (Kanon)
2) Ogiue Chika (Genshiken)

For the third time, a pick of mine last time, so she's a pick again.

My votes are in...

Set 1 = The major, one of my fav characters

Set 2 = Nenene, great anime and thought she was great

Set 3 = Miyuki, once again... really liked the the character

Set 4 = Suzaku, not much into School Rumble or One Piece

Set 5 = Well... kind of goes whatout saying :P

And once again, I wish everyone the best of luck!

May the best vampire... Uhmm... I mean the best character win LoL

I have redeemed my honor by voting for Nagisa Furukawa (that, and see my sig). The others I voted for (I might as well say who I voted):

Set 2: Overfiend (Urotsukidoji)
Set 3: Isaac Dian (Baccano!)
Set 4: Nami (One Piece)
Set 5: Ayu Tsukimiya (Kanon) Uguu!

Go Nagisa, go!! :beatingheart:

Suwako Moriya

Set 1: Furukawa Nagisa (Clannad)
Set 2: Sanzenin Nagi (Hayate the Combat Butler)
Set 3: Naegino Sora (Kaleido Star)
Set 4: Tsukamoto Tenma (School Rumble)
Set 5: Tsukimiya Ayu (Kanon)

To be honest the fourth set was your classic case of not having that many options to work with. I never watched One Piece and well I don't really feel like voting for Suzaku for some reason. The first set was cruel due to Clannad vs Clannad, but Nagisa won out. In regards to the second set, this time around the stronger competition is gone and thus Nagi triumphed easily. In the third set, Sora manages to edge out Issac due to certain advantages. In the fifth set, well uh we're talking about Ayu here.

HitokiriShadow
02-10-2009, 06:23 PM
Set 1: Sorry Nagisa, I like you, but I'm partial to Tomoyo Sakagami so she gets my vote.

Set 2: Nagi Sanzenin gets my vote again here though I'm not expecting it to help much. She didn't fare very well last round. I struggled between picking Nenene or Revy last round, but Nagi has the distinct advantage here.

Set 3: Sora Nagaeno wins my vote here by default. I haven't seen YUA, and Isaac is a guy so he loses almost by default.

Set 4: Tenma Tsukamoto (or "Skamoto" as some apparently like to call her ;P ) wins here with ease even though I don't have any particularly strong feelings for her. While I seem to be one of the few people who didn't hate Suzaku during most of Code Geass, I still don't particularly like him and, well, he's a guy so he's at a huge disadvantage to begin with. I'm somewhat indifferent to Nami from what I read of the manga quite some time ago, so she doesn't do much for me either. So, Tenma wins.

Set 5: Alucard is one of the rare males that might get my vote, but only if the female opponents are really weak. I'm not a big fan of Ayu and I would actually vote for Alucard over her. But I'm rather fond of Ogiue (based purely on the manga; I haven't seen anything past the first season of the anime) so she gets my vote.

Urk. Real death match here, at least in a few cases.

1. Tomoyo Sakagami (I'm looking around and feeling contrary about this one...)
2. Nagi Sanzenin
3. Sora Naegino (poor Miyuki)
4. Suzaku Kururugi
5. Ayu Tsukimiya

Yeah, it wasn't hard for me either, even if Nagisa hadn't been my favorite. As much as I loooove Tomoyo, she's my least favorite of the girls, and that includes Ryou, Mei, and Sanae too. That's just how it is when everyone in a show is completely awesome. :sd:

I'm also surprised she was picked before Kyou. Didn't that happen last year too?

Yes, it did. I forced a Tomoyo vs. Kyo split-vote in Round 9 last year, because I was worried that somebody would take Kyo before I did by Round 10.

~

Now, for my votes:

1.

...

The Major.

I'm deeply sorry Nagisa and Tomoyo, but the Major and I have to fight our hardest to get in. No hard feelings.

2. The Rich Girl
3. *I voided my vote in this bracket due to being unfamiliar with all three characters.*
4. DUWA!!!
5. Uguu~

Jimmie M

And the only thing I am guaranteeing this round is that Jimmie M won't vote for Sora this time...dammit. :P

If only she were in a different bracket from Tomoyo's & Miyuki's then Sora would have had my vote for sure. As it is it looks like the 3rd fast poll for me as well though I'm hoping that it will be at least close in my group.

Anyhow, my votes:

Tomoyo Sakagami (Clannad)
Nenene Sumerigawa (R.O.D. The TV)
Miyuki Kobayakowa (You're Under Arrest!)
Suzaku Kururugi (Code Geass)
Alucard (Hellsing)

Good luck, everyone! :)

Set 1: Haven't seen Clannad, so it's between Light and Motoko. I've seen Death Note far more recently, plus I want some males represented too, so I'm voting for Light.

Set 2: I do like Ryoko, but I love surprises and diversity more, so I'm, voting for Overfiend

Set 3: Arrgh, two awesome characters. But I voted for Miyuki last time, and I will vote for her again.

Set 4: Tenma-chan~!

Set 5: Ogiue got my vote last time, so she will get it again.

Look on the bright side... she'll be open to be picked again if she doesn't get in(I think) and if she gets in, she gets in. At least one Clannad girl will be there.

I need to get in the draft so I can create my all guy team!!

These are my votes for round two

1. Nagisa - It was between the Clannad girls but I went with Nagisa

2. Nagi - From what I saw of Hayate, I liked her

3. Issac - Baccano! is the only one I know from this bracket

4. Suzaku - I guess I saw Code Geass and picked him, really though I hate him.

5. Ayu - We'll get through this round together

It's interesting that if you look at "Nagi Sanzenin" you can see "Nagisa Nzenin". Also, "Sora Naegino" is an anagram of "Nagisa Or One". It seems like Nagi and Sora also want you to vote Dango too!

Never got around to posting my votes last time, and I feel like doing so, so...

1. Have yet to get around to seeing Clannad, so that's two down. I have seen both of the other two franchises and since I don't feel like voting for Light (clever, but way too evil for my vote here), I'm gonna have to go with the Major for the second round in a row.

2. Easiest choice here, seeing as how my pick Ryoko is in this set.

3. Fairly easy choice. Sora is simply incredible, and what I've seen of the other two does not compel me to vote for them here.

4. I have only seen Suzaku and Tenma in their series in any significant capacity. If only because Suzaku is the more interesting of the two, he gets my vote.

5. I wanted to vote for Ayu last round, and would have if it weren't for her landing in Sakura's bracket. Seeing as how I have yet to see much of the other characters' series, this choice is simple.

I'll admit that I don't quite understand the rules to this, but it looks like something got messed up. The first poll seems to have Sora Naegino tied for second in her group, while Suiseiseki was dead last among all characters. However, Sora is back in this poll and Suiseiseki is missing. Shouldn't Suiseiseki have been in this poll instead of Sora?

Edit: Now that I think of it, the viewable results for the first poll might not be correct if someone voted multiple times in the same group. Still, I don't see any way that Suiseiseki would be dropped out.

First of all, I would like to apologize to everyone for my behavior over the weekend and on Monday on the blog forum. I was completely out of line with my comments, and obviously wasn't thinking clearly. I was mired in a personal slump over the weekend and was having trouble dealing with the death of a relative I was very close too. It was never my intention to leave AoD permanently, but sometimes when emotions get the best of you, you end up saying and doing things you'll end up regretting later on. With all my heart and soul, I'm very sorry .

So with that I did withdraw for this year's Anime Draft, but considering how poorly Suiseiseki did in the fast polls, that might not have been a bad thing . Oh, well, I hope that whoever takes her in the draft will do a better job with her than me.

As for my picks in this round, I chose the Major, Nenene, Sora, Tenma, and Alucard.

I don't think you be begrudged under the circumstances bci - just glad everything is slowly getting back on track - and glad you're still in the seiyuu draft at least. :)

Since you were in before the initial deadline for round 1, I could treat round 2 as a loss and reinstate it for round 3 if you want, but I would need to know soon, since I'm going to be getting things together for that round, with this ending so soon...

Whee... another setup round done, and more getting in! Of course, you people never make my life easy, so I'll just get to the point. After all, even I can do that... :P

First, I will say that putting that one per set in the main "question" actually seemed to work, since all of the votes this time appear good! ^_^ So, since you can see the results, I'm just going to announce the winners.

In group 1, the Clannad characters getting put together completely by fluke. And with the 1 vote per person, there's a good chance that they had to compete with each other, allowing Buster Blader 126's Motoko to get in at the 16th draft slot.

Group 2 had much more of a runaway, despite it being the other 4-character group. So it makes it all the stronger of a showing for martialstax and Nenene to debut in the 13th draft slot.

Group 3 was almost a slaughterhouse, with the winner getting over 50% of that set's votes! So, getting the 11th slot will be Spirit of the Stage, with Sora.

Group 4 didn't quite have the showing of group 3, but a strong showing from Azumangaman's pick of Tenma will secure the 12th slot.

And last, but certainly not least, we have group 5. This just wouldn't be an anime draft without a tie somewhere, so we get to let the 2 co-winners of this group in! Since RedCorvus took Alucard first, the 14th slot goes there. Thus, we have to give slot 15 to bctaris's choice of Chika.

Of course, we still have 4 slots to fill. And how many more entrants to go? Well, who gets them is up to all of you! Be sure to stay tuned for more draft goodness! ^_^

Well, round 3 will be the easiest for me, because I easily like Miyuki the best out of the candidates remaining.

Group 3 was almost a slaughterhouse, with the winner getting over 50% of that set's votes! So, getting the 11th slot will be Spirit of the Stage, with Sora.

Figures. I knew he would pick Sora .

Congrats to the Round 2 winners.

I didn't get her the past two years - the only way I was gonna get her was in the 1st round. And the risk worked (ironically she was my 3rd choice - my 2nd being Nagisa...first being Sakura)...

And my other fave, Chika, in a very close round is also through - yay!

So now have to decided who to pick for the finale - thanks for the votes and for everyone who got through - now to finish it off...

On the subject of stage 3, since it's a large number of participants, will it be a vote for two situation?

Well, you could just use 2 votes if you wanted to, but that thread is up now with its rules, so go ahead and take a gander! ^_^

Congrats! bctaris, RedCorvus, Azumangaman, Spirit of the Stage, martialstax and BusterBlader126! To all of you:

Coach, after the first fast polls were you surprised you didn't make it in the main draft field? When you saw the groups for round 2, were you optimistic or pessimistic about your chances to get in this time around?

I felt I was in the Group of Death the 1st time round, and losing to one vote was a bit of a stunner TBH. However, I must confess when I saw the group I was in this time, I felt I got some luck compared to my fellow Midlanders - I felt Miyuki could have been a threat considering she only had one vote less than Sora and there are some obvious YUA fans, but in the end, needless worry and the 'tie' I had with Belle seemed to not matter as was going to be 10th or 11th anyway so it all worked out.

Congrats to all of the winners here in phase 2! :)
On to the final fast poll-Show some love for Tomoyo! :)

Well, congratulations to all the winners and good luck to all those remaining. I knew that Nenene would be the odds on favorite to win and I will be facing some pretty stiff competition for a final at-large berth and it did not help that one of the at-large bids were claimed through a tie.

Anyway, show Hayate the Combat Butler some love and support Nagi!

Considering Nenene was up against the Overfiend, Nagi and Ryoko, I was resigned to slugging it out in the third round and potentially not getting in at all. I'm stunned she won at all, much less by such a large margin. Thank you to everyone who voted for her, and I hope you continue to support my team over the course of the draft. I promise not to draft anyone based on their popularity, but based solely on how awesome I think they are.

I'm going to have to change my Nenene avatar as soon as I get home from work tonight. I know exactly what I'm going to change it to, too.

Oh god, the vote split is getting ridiculous. Nagisa had an easy easy win in her group if not for that. Argh.

Nope. Third bracket in Round 1 was absolutely brutal.

I was also more on the pessimistic side for Round 2, because the Major had to face the Clannad girls, who got more vocal support. I was honestly expecting Nagisa to win regardless of the vote split.

So you can imagine my surprise when I checked the final poll (which I checked before the Round 2 poll) and saw BOTH Tomoyo AND Nagisa on the list. (No offense, Light!)

This was definitely something that brightened up my day a little - I had a terrible day today.

I'll admit that I feel a little bad for losing a bit of faith in Motoko - I drafted her knowing her potential to do well, yet I let my faith in her shaken when I saw the players that got drafted this year for the preliminaries. Having never been part of the prelims before, I honestly did not anticipate the strong competition that we got this draft.

So to those who voted for The Major, I thank you.

You could say, that the Clannad split caused a Major upset.

Suppose I should finally wade into this thread since I'm in the game...

Considering who I was up against in the first round, I wasn't that surprised. In this round...I had a feeling these three would be neck and neck after they all pulled similar numbers in the last round. It was tight, man! Thanks to voters!

My condolences and understanding as well, bci.

But great to still have you around.

*Takes way Fudce's comedy license* Although, I do see your point. Regardless, split voting is always evil and conflicting. Then again to be fair some who voted for one may not have voted for the other anyway.

I also want to extend my congratulations to the other five users who made it in. It looks like this draft will shape up to be a very interesting experience.

Good luck to those in the final polls!

No problem, it was an easy choice for me. Recent (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v727/conri/fanart/edits/motokodomo.jpg) events made (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v727/conri/fanart/edits/motokoonepiece2.jpg) it the obvious (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v727/conri/fanart/edits/motokopenguin.jpg) choice for me (http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/2862/votingwu0.jpg). Made all those for a little popularity contest on another board, even though I haven't yet seen SAC beyond an episode or two and didn't quite like the movies, I still like her badass qualities and the fact she quite reminds me of Balsa (Moribito)...tough mature women, same studio for the TV series, many of the same staff. Good luck with your team. :)

As promised, here's my new Nenene avatar. It's her teary-eyed face after she hears how Michelle, Maggie and Anita first met. In this case, Nenene is teary-eyed with gratitude for everyone who voted for her. You all have her thanks, as well as mine.

Sigh, My Ayu only needed three votes to swing her way. My bracket was really well fought though. Hopefully, I still get in, I had some ideas for other characters, but I have to make it through the entry round first.
