Yes I know we have two voice acting threads but here I am thinking about both the Japanese voice actors and the English ones. This seemed like the best place to me if someone wants to move it I will not be insulted. Anyway. For sad to me it would be Now and Then Here and There. That has to be one of the most effecting animes I have ever seen. How you can do the voice acting for that without having a genuine emotional response I don't know. I can barely watch it without becoming depressed.

For laughing out loud and going..I can say this. It has to be Fairy Musketeers. Anime humor often doesn't work for me (hence my hatred for FLCL and Excel saga) but this just strikes me as absolutely hilarious. I don't think I could ever tell anyone in person I watched it (except maybe another otaku) and if I ever owned it I would have to hide it well but man is it hilarious. I can't imagine doing the voice acting for this without cracking up though. 1 2 3 MUSKETEERS! As we don't have a dub for this one yet I can't really tell if they have children doing it on the Japanese dub but it seems like they would almost have to, or perhaps I just need to get more comfortable with myself and act silly more I don't know. So which shows are you amazed voice actors can do without crying or cracking up?

If you have Princess Tutu, watch the dub-related extras on the final volume of Tutu - IIRC you can see some of the VA's reactions to the emotional bits there. I think some releases with dub outtakes might have some of the actors' reactions to the funny bits (like messing up on a line because they were cracking up at something - I'm pretty sure I saw that at least once in the Magic User's Club outtakes).

Those words, is it possible to use them together in a sentence like that?

Agreed. FLCL > All other anime. FLCL is on another level then everything else. How can anyone use "hatred" and FLCL in the same sentence?

Anyway I agree with NTHT. That must have been incredbly depressing to do voice acting for, both the English and Japanese actors. Both groups did an amazing job, so I commend them.

Yea I don't know why flcl is so popular...just way to crazy silly with no understandable plot. Waaay to much like excel saga for me. don't have princess tutu but there is dark emotional stuff in that anime...for some reason I thought it was a comedy...I may have to check it out at some point.

Nononononono...it has comic moments most assuredly, but Tutu is NOT a comedy.
