I'm collecting serious naval theme anime. So far I have Blue Submarine No.6, Secret Service, Super Atragon & Zipang.

Is Submarine 707R (Geneon) worth hunting down? Are there any other shows like the above I'm missing?

Full Metal Panic! / FMP: TSR has many of its episodes set on a submarine. It probably can't be called a "serious" naval show though :)

Yes, it's definitely worth hunting down. It's the closest thing I've ever seen to Blue Submarine No. 6.

In fact, that's the first thing that popped into my mind while I was originally watching it, "wow, this thing is just like Blue Submarine!"

I'd say it's just a hair below Blue, much better than Secret Service.

Both are based on works by the same manga author, hence the similarities.

I'd also highly recommend Submarine 707R. Its biggest drawback is that there isn't more of it. However, for only being a 2-episode OVA, it tells a remarkably complete story with a beginning, middle and end, that involves characters that are pretty well fleshed out (well, Hayami and Red, at least, but they're the main characters so that's what really matters). Great animation, and fantastic music.
