FUNimation has dipped into the Gonzo pool once again with a pair of titles that have seen their episodes streamed over different services in the last year. Be sure to check out the "series" link to the left here where we have a complete series breakdown of Strike Witches and ongoing additions for Linebarrels of Iron...

Never heard of either of them, and neither sound all that interesting. Problem is, everything has been done now. Most series seem to be the same old story over and over 100 times, with maybe a single new addition to it. I need someone to create something completely new in the same aspect that Death Note and Gankutsuou were something completely new a few years ago. Something that truly stands above other anime series that screams WATCH ME.

You'd never even HEARD of them and you already know they're "nothing new"?
Also, about Gankutsuo...

Originality is so, so vastly overrated anyway.

Originality is so, so vastly overrated anyway.
The main problem with "originality" when used in this context is that it's virtually impossible for any show to be original enough. Hence why I stopped caring about originality years ago.
That doesn't mean I don't appreciate having a change of pace, but there's also nothing wrong with familarity. In the long run, the main thing that matters is how a given show makes use of its package of story elements. Two shows can have the same basic template and still end up being different from each other.
