Yes, it has cutesy animal mascots. However it also has cute girls. Meaning the idea is to ignore the former and pay attention to the latter. Plus it can't hurt try out the series for the heck of it.

Let's see here, you have a bunch of creatures studying magic. As part of their study, they're going to a forest of memories. For this trip, the said creatures get turned into Jewels. Hence the name "Jewel Pets".

Jewels that are being carried to their destination. Thankfully nothing can go wrong, right? Never mind, the wind decided to screw things over and all of the Jewels fall to the human world. You know, there are times that wind can be quite evil.

Thankfully, Ruby was absent during this. So she avoided the "disaster". Of course, since she skipped out, she's getting punished. Her punishment is to find everyone else. She's supposed to get help from a human to complete her task.

The said human ends up being Rinko. A red haired girl, who gets chosen as the class rep. Chosen while she's spacing out. You know, I have to wonder what goes through people's minds when they decided to choose the person who is either spacing out or is absent at the time.

In any case, being class rep is a problem for Rinko because she's the nervous type and the type that wants to give up before things even start. A lot of her scenes involve interacting with a girl named Minami.

Eventually Rinko acquires Ruby, but Ruby is in jewel form. So Rinko thinks it's just a jewel. However she meets some guy named Keigo. Keigo explains everything about Jewel Pets to Rinko, Minami and Rinko's mother. Although this stuff is supposed to be kept a secret.

Heh, I have to admit I find it interesting that for once the female lead's mother already knows what's going on. My experience with most of these series is she's kept in the dakr much longer than that.

Ruby's magic is courage. Ruby gets unsealed. Ruby uses her magic. The results are a disaster. We then find out that Ruby got failing grades. Even so, Rinko has promised to find the other Jewels and turn them back into pets.

Near the end of the episode after a bit of silliness from Ruby entering the school grounds and forcing Minami to rely on the "advanced toy" explanation, Rinko is prepared to give her speech.

Let's see here, we have three main girls and a bunch of pets. So it looks like this will be one of those collection stories. It's not exactly a water parting first episode, but it's not half-bad for its type of showing.

We didn't get much of a chance to see what Aoi is like. So right now, it's a choice between Minami and Rinko. With this episode focused on Rinko. So it's hard to compare the three of them right now. Speaking of which, I suspect that once I've gotten an idea of what all three are like, I'll be able to make a decision on how far to take this.

It's now Minami's turn to get her own Jewel Pet. The one she ends up with is named Garnet and voiced by Hirano Aya. The episode is mostly about Minami's feelings for some guy and her getting to know Garnet.

It's now time for Aoi to get her own Jewel Pet, but it looks like the task in this case was a bit harder. Well, at least things worked out in the end. Plus all three main characters have been established. So I guess the set up arc is over.

Apparently they decided the series needed villains. Thus black cat named Diana and her three human lackeys take up the task.

Also, the episode is focused on some ramen shop and after Diamond worked her magic, things went "wrong". So according to this show "diamonds are not your best friend"?

The main thing this episode establishes above all else is that the Jewel Pets will be spread out. In other words, you're not going to have any of the three leads "collect them all", but rather have it be an individual thing.

Which is for the best. As it creates greater variety and gives them an excuse not to have to show all the pets constantly. As you can just be like "That Jewel Pet is currently busy with his/her human partner"

Just in case, we already forgot, Ruby explains the basic plot structure.

Ruby and Rinko are awakened by the shouting of the guy that Minami likes.

Said guy is focused on his practice.

Minami practices with her senpai.

Does that guy think it's a crime for people to sleep?

Rinko clearly needs her sleep.

And now Senpai gets to be the latest victim of Diana.

Well, the good news is that Rink and Ruby got to sleep.

Minami is here to tell us that something is wrong with Senpai.

Seems like Senpai has become lazy and is no longer focused on training.

Aoi is in a cheerleader outfit. Even better she makes Rinko wear one!

Minami "strips" or well at least she takes off some of her clothes. Yeah, I know, but for a show like this, it's like daring.

Minami has a plan to deal with the fact Senpai is too lazy to participate in the tournament.

Rinko is trying to drag said Senpai with her, but he's not listening. Keeping dragging him, Rinko.

There's no escaping Rinko! Also, the revenge of an angry Garnet.

Aoi and Rinko are forcing the Kendo Senpai to watch Minami. Kendo Senpai needs to learn not to anger Garnet.

A jewel has appeared and so have the trio that works for Diamond.

Time for Rinko and Ruby to release another pet. This time it ends up being a dog of some sort.

The trio gets defeated and things work out in the end, I think.

And now we have a group "cheer" keeping people awake.

With Rinko and Ruby in charge of releasing everyone, I hope those two don't ever become corrupt.

Minami, forget about Senpai and marry me instead.

This time Diana's target is some young girl. A girl that falls into a bad crowd and gets into an argument with her older sister.

Rinko gets involved in a race. A race where Ruby tries to help with magic.

It's kind of funny how it seems like the one that ends up curing the victim of the week is the Jewel Pet of the week. Maybe there's some special connection?

This time the butler of Aoi gets Jewel Pet.

Aoi gets to be in a princess like outfit.

Rinko and others get to wear maid outfits. Clearly this being the most important part.

Diana's power causes a bunch of couples including the parents of Rinko to start arguing.

In the end, Rinko's parents get their own Jewel Pet.

Diana casts a spell on the glasses of a girl which makes the said girl see herself as a pig.

The said girl gets a Jewel Pet that just happens to be a pig.

The pig saves the bacon of the girl and I'm killed for making a bad joke.

The girl has cute side pony tail.

I think Ruby has an attraction to this week's Jewel Pet.

A Jewel Pet that ends up with two young boys who may as be twins,

Oh, and the cast had trouble with animals.

Yes, even Keigo gets a Jewel Pet. Catching up with shows is fun.

I watched the first two episodes of this when it first came out. I thought it was cute, but I got caught up in other things and didn't watch much more. I feel like I should start watching again.

This is one of those shows that I think would do well on TV here marketed toward young girls. Kind of like The Littlest Pet Shop. Though getting the license for show and merchandise might be difficult and no anime company wants to take the risk.

After I finish Fairy Musketeers I'm gonna start this again.

The series is working quite well in the context of being a cutesy series. Sure there is a definite pattern to the series, but it's one of those patterns that still allows for some variety. Of course how many are watching for the pets and how many are watching for the lead female trio is another story.

Aoi in the yellow suit in a martial arts pose was amusing.

Rinko as a princess! Rinko as a princess.

Apparently the actor that was supposed to play the prince seems to prefer the idea of being a princess?

Suwako Moriya

The "victim of Diana" for this week goes through quite a radical change. Not just in terms of personality, but appearance.

Rinko ends up having to dress up and pretend to be someone else.

Speaking of which the outfit she wore for some reason made her chest more noticeable. Yeah, I had to say that.

Suwako Moriya

Diana decides to target one of her underlings.

The trio travels to the home of the Jewel Pets.

The trio get special outfits. Love the hat for Rinko.

Cute girl with glasses and twin tails. She gets Jewel Pet that helps change her appearance in order to get closer to some guy.

She manages to meet up with him, but the magic wears off and he sees her true herself. However it looks like things ultimately do work out between the two.

12-24-2009, 04:04 PM
Diana has some weird underlings...

With the way Rinko was arguing with the "Jewel Pet Owner" of the week aka Nanase, I get the feeling he's going to be the love interest. I've watched too much anime.

Suwako Moriya
12-24-2009, 06:24 PM
Seems like they're investigating Diana.

The Jewel Pet which is a Dog with a painter's cap is amusing.

Ah, I see swimsuits in the next episode.

Suwako Moriya
12-24-2009, 07:37 PM
Ah, it looks like Rinko will have to spend time with the Jewel Pets.

Time to travel to Jewel Land and thus Rink is in that outfit of love again.

Tour of Jewel Land?

It's kind of funny how we have Jewel Pets that are "naked" most of the time suddenly wearing swimsuits. Scandalous.

Rinko is wearing a bikini! I approve.

Time to pair people up by drawing numbers.

Ruby ends up with Rinko, but she wanted to end up with the one she has a crush on.

Looks to be a test of courage thing.

The "Teachers" are not above using tricks and such.

Ruby and Rinko draw closer towards the goal.

This is so a reference to Ultraman.

The goal has been reached.

Ruby runs or rather flies off with the cake.

Suwako Moriya
12-24-2009, 10:38 PM
More or less focused on how Diana's underlings met her and released her. Also includes Diana having a dream about being cornered by Ruby, Rinko, and others.

Suwako Moriya
12-25-2009, 08:18 AM
It looks like the others are trying to find a way to help Minami advance her relationship with Miyamoto.

So it's time to go to an Island owned by Aoi.

Well, that attempt by Sapphire didn't work.

Princess and Prince imagery using Minami and Miyamoto.

Rinko is definitely fond of the whole princess thing. Her expression is just wow. Yes, I noticed her chest thanks to the angle.

Looks like Ruby had the butler help her build a sandcastle.

And it gets destroyed by Miyamoto and Minami.

Garnet uses magic to put Minami into a bikini.

Miyamoto runs right past Minami. However a bunch of lizards and birds have taken notice.

Looks like Minami has found out what the others are up to.

Flashback between Miyamoto and Minami. Ah, I see a classic case of someone that wanted to quit, but ended up being encouraged not to.

Minami tries to confess (I think) to Miyamoto, but has trouble,

Ruby is happy to see someone.

Minami and Miyamoto are on a boat. Time for an elaborate plan involving a shark?

Miyamoto tries to fight the shark. Well he does hurt it, but also angers it.

The said shark is defeated by Aoi's butler who shows himself to be quite capable.

Either Miyamoto is oblivious or he's playing around.

I sense some yukata goodness. Also, there are fireworks. Hmm, maybe he does notice her.

I can already see a future child of Miyamoto and Minami, practicing swing swords with them.

This episode is focused on Aoi, who gets attacked by some thugs.

She gets helped by this older guy, who turns out had his hand effected by Diana.

The said guy ends up getting a fish for a Jewel pet.

The fish ends up whacking the thugs.

It looks like the girls are studying and/or doing homework. Rinko is upset about it.

Attack of the English text. Heh, finally stuff I can read.

Seems like Minami and Aoi will have to deal with Rinko.

Nanase's room is a complete mess. Time to clean it up.

Rinko trying to deal with English.

Nanase is angering Rinko.

And now they've been flown off to wherever.

Love the outfit Rinko is wearing.

Rinko vs Nanase in Basketball, Rinko loses.

Time for a kendo match, and this time Rinko wins?

A contest to put together a necklace that Nanase wins.

Bungee jumping time and some use of Ruby's magic.

Nanase saves Rinko from a Bear.

Sapphire tames a bear.

Rinko and Nanase holding hands. Why am I suspecting bad things to happen once they get closer?

In this episode, Ruby makes the mistake of eating another girl's cake. That girl being Rinko. This leads to Ruby running away and running into problem after problem. Eventually Ruby returns to Rinko.

As Rinko in her pajamas talks to Ruby, a magic sick appears in the book the two have. A stick that they're now discussing with the others. Ah, so it's the Jewel stick and it's magical.

I think they're warning them not to let Diana have the stick. It's nice to know that getting a piece of jewelery can lead to a complicated life.

Yes, girls, the idea of Diana destroying everything seems weird to me too.

Diana and her underlings again. Ah, so she had own book as well. Plus, she seems to notice about the Jewel stick.

The underlings are trying to steal Rinko and Ruby's book.

Wow. Diana is quite cranky.

Don't tell me Rinko is actually listening to that story. Yeah, she just had to give them the book.

Well, at least Minami is here to help get the book back.

Ruby seems to be wondering why they're following Diana.

And now the blond haired underling has a Jewel charm as well.

Seems like Sapphire was smart enough to put a tracking device on the book.

Well, they got the book back and the Jewel Pet turns out to be a cat with a crown on it.

Suwako Moriya
12-27-2009, 03:45 AM
It looks like they've decided that Rinko needs a body guard.

A situation that will probably cause Rinko a headache.

Ruby is in Diamond's mansion and she's being silly.

A trap is defeated by Ruby's magic that tends to cause explosions.

Diana doesn't like anyone lecturing her.

Ruby's love interest has been captured.

Looks like Ruby is going to exchange the book in order to free the guy. As if Diana will do so.

Attack of the cliff hanger.

Suwako Moriya
12-27-2009, 04:22 AM
Thank goodness for tracking devices. Time for everyone to go after Ruby and the book. It's also good that one of the members of the trio has money.

Looks like Ruby had decided against giving Diana the pink book, but Diana ends up taking it anyway.

And now Diana is using the pink and black book to summon the Jewel stick.

The Jewel Stick lands in the hands of Rinko.

Time for a game of keep away.

Diana gains the Jewel Stick! They're in trouble because she plans to turn them into food.

Except that nothing happens after her first attempt or her second attempt.

Ah, it seems like only the first person that got the stick can use it. Which means only Rinko can use it.

Diana throws a fit and becomes a giant.

And now a volcano might be erupting.

Mint (?) causes giant Diana to revert back to her normal size.

Rinko now has her Jewel Stick and they want her to use it to save them all.

Is it possible that Ruby's magic actually worked?

Rinko does a new magic sequence.

They're saved by a winged unicorn.

Suwako Moriya

Various characters and their Jewel Pets. It's like a quick refresher course/reminder.

The Jewel Pets go into large chest which is like a portal back to Jewel Land.

The Jewels Pets are back in school and they have a new classmate.

It's Magical Girl Rinko! And she's wearing her lovely outfit with the hat. That also has partially exposed shoulders, exposed upper legs, and part of her back exposed.

I guess they figured some education would be good for Rinko, since she has the stick.

Rinko seems to be quite happy about being a student.

And now they're practicing magic on a table with a cloth and dishes.

Rinko seems to have trouble using the stick. Which I guess makes sense given that she only got it recently.

Now the Jewel Stick is whacking her.

Things don't seem to be going well for Rinko in general.

That Jewel Stick doesn't like being angered.

They want Ruby to deal with the plant monster for the next test. I think Ruby made things worse.

Rinko's attempt doesn't go well either.

Rinko's depressed about her general failure at magic.

Note to self. Never get a stick, wand, or staff with a mind of its own.

Thanks to chasing the Jewel Stick, Rinko has fallen down a hole.

Rinko has a talk with three err random creatures.

Rinko is saved by the Jewel Stick.

It takes a few tries at it, but Rinko is able to fly back to school.

Perhaps future education will go more smoothly.

Suwako Moriya
12-27-2009, 06:14 AM
Rinko has another of herself as a princess with the same blond hair. She gets a better image of her prince and it worries her. Ah, so she was sleeping in class.

Nanase has the power to blow up stuff while cooking.

Rinko discusses her education with the others.

One of the girls tries to get Ruby to help her confess to Nanase.

Ruby and Garnet's magic causes a bunch of girls to fall for Nanase, it would seem.

Not that it seems to have any effect on Rinko as she goes to argue with criticize and argue with Nanase.

Rinko has angered a fan club.

Time for a level 3 combo of magic and now even a guy seems to be interested in Nanase.

Funny, how the magic has no effect on the main female trio. Wait, that often seems to be the case in these type of shows.

Nanase is trapped by the heart eyes clan and falls off a building. However Rinko gives him temporary wings and then cures the fan club.

I get the feeling it will take more than 52 episodes for Rinko and Nanase to get together.

I'm not sure anymore if her name is supposed to be Diana or Diamond, but I'll go with Diana for now as it's shorter. In any case, it seems Diana wants to unseal someone.

Rinko's class nominates some guy named Hinata to run for Student Council, I think. He seems to reluctantly accept the task.

However they have to face off against Ririka (nice to have a name in English), a girl who is being carried by others. You can more or less guess what she's about.

I love the look of Aoi that tells us she has a plan. And here comes helicopter.

And now the Ririka is trying to bribe people with stuff. Rinko gets effected by it and then Minami. Yeah, Ririka is trying to buy victory.

Aoi seems to have a plan, but Hinata is not so sure about it. Hinata has gotten a makeover. And I'm still not used to the idea of a male named Hinata.

Diana makes Hinata her next victim. Not that her plans have ever really worked that well.

Ririka is singing the opening to the series, she's cheating.

Looks like Hinata is another example of a character that gets a more drastic change.

Hinata's making Ririka cry! Hinata's a terrible singer.

I kind of like the way Nanase is willing to throw Hinata and even punch him if need be.

The Jewel Charm appears, but they fail to unseal it. They try again with the Jewel Stick and this time it works. Plus, Rinko is wearing her magical girl outfit.

I approve of this new version of the unsealing. More chances to see Rinko in that outfit are always a good thing. Although I'm hoping we'll also see Aoi and Minami in their outfits again soon.

It looks Ririka's "bribe" plan ran into a problem.

448 to 6, Hinata wins by a land slide. Ririka is trying to figure out who among her group voted for Hinata.

Aoi is at the place Nato (?) works. She asks for a recommendation and he recommends something that sounds like the English word for "Kiss". Which gets a reaction from both of them.

Ruby apparently thinks she's supposed to play on the conveyor belt.

Rinko's mother calls her back home due to the Jewel Stick acting change.

Suddenly mini-jewel sticks for Sapphire, Garnet, and Ruby.

Aoi is now working at the same place as Nato. Aoi seems to be popular.

Aoi is willing to solve problems with a phone call.

The butler just had to bring a hand.

It would seem that Aoi wasn't doing so well working there.

Depressed Aoi outside with umbrella.

Aoi, there's a bit of an age gap between you and him. So it may be a bit more challenging.

Aoi gets a phone call from Rinko, but Ruby, Garnet, and Minami are trying to get into the conversation.

Suddenly Aoi in a space shuttle?

Time for the main trio of Jewel Pets to make use of their mini sticks. And the sticks summon one of the other Jewel Pets. Not sure, there was much point to that summon.

I guess Aoi decided against space travel or maybe she had no real intention of it.

Yeah, there was a lot of Aoi focus this time.

Rinko has been chosen for a task at school. She accepts it.

Nanase imagines Rinko in that waitress outfit at the start of the series. I was wondering when we'd get to see that.

Ririka's classmates spy on Rinko's class. Nothing like rivals between classes.

I get the feeling that Ririka wants revenge.

Ah, this must be a cultural festival episode.

The fact the Jewel Pets are out in the open and aren't some dramatic secret is one thing that makes this series stand out.

Ah, so that's they went with for the waitresses.

Ruby puts on a fashion show.

Rinko's mother has dressed up and is having fun with Rinko's father.

Minami is running a food stand, but I'm not sure she's having much luck.

Ririka is being well Ririka again.

It looks like Minami is getting some help from the green bird Jewel Pet.

Ririka is quite competitive and willing to use any means possible.

Nanase is making a basket blindfolded.

Ririka now wants to play a musical number.

Time for Diana to target Ririka and it results in her singing suddenly being terrible.

Ririka's presence seems to be having an effect on the haunted house.

Everything seems to be going wrong for Ririka.

Aoi comes to the assitance of Ririka and touching Ririka's hand causes a Jewel Charm to appear.

And the Jewel Pet turns out to be a cat with a strawberry necklace. Seems like they're calling her Sango.

The fact Ririka got her Jewel Pet and got cured early in the episode means there's time for another problem to come up.

It looks like she wasn't completely cured. She's now faced with a bull, but suddenly Ririka becomes a matador.

Wait. Were Rinko and the others trying to remove Ririka's clothes to find the possible paw print?

Rinko is willing to use the Jewel Stick to transform her and others into fire fighters.

Seems likely slowly, but surely Rinko will become an expert at spell casting. Which likely be needed to defeat the final boss.

Ah, so the paw print was on Ririka's foot. Whether it took two tries to remove the print or there was a second print, I'm not sure.

Hopefully this will lead to a Ririka with a better personality. Which is good since Ririka has awesome hair and a nice figure.

Diana brags about growing stronger, Ruby imagines Diana lifting weights.

After bragging, Diana runs off.

Diana is working on unsealing the clearly evil Jewel Pet sealed insome ice.

Rinko and the others are thinking about Diana's talk about being powered up.

Aoi and Minami are motivated enough to be shown in special outfits.

Rinko uses her magic and suddenly a Jewel Charm appears. And it ends up being a monkey.

Rinko thinks about things that happened over time.

Ruby and the monkey argue. They both use the same cheap trick on each other.

Diana is spying on Rinko's group as they talk about her. She gets tired of listening and goes to challenge them.

Ruby has a plan involving bananas, but the monkey at them.

Looks like Diana wants to target the mother of Rinko. Well, instead of adding a paw print, she turns Rinko's mother into food.

Rinko vs Diana. Sadly for Rinko, Diana probably had more experience and Rinko would be the larger target.

Time for Ruby and the monkey to double Jewel Flash which doesn't help Rinko.

Or maybe it did. Suddenly she's a pretty soldier. A pretty soldier dodging a lot of missiles.

Time for an energy beam battle and Diana's beam wins out over Rinko's beam.

Rinko is in trouble, but at least her friends provide enough of a distraction.

Rinko turns the others including Nanase (who was passing by) into Senshi as well. Minami's outfit is win!

Rinko tries to have another beam battle with Diana, but is still having trouble.

Suddenly the mother who is still food (but with a cape) has talk with Sapphire and Garnet.

Everyone puts their hands on the Jewel Stick. This has so got to be a reference to the final battles of certain anime.

It looks like the beam battle caused damage to their clothes. Interesting to see where the damage is on Aoi. Oh, and a lot of messed up hair.

Well, the nice thing about those being magic clothes is they revert back to their normal outfits.

Rinko's mother is back to normal.

Looks like Diana has unsealed her brother? Who is likely just as evil as she is or possibly even more.

Suwako Moriya
12-28-2009, 01:02 PM
Where as Diana turned humans negative, her brother aka Dian turns Jewel Pets negative.

The said Jewel Pet that was turned evil is making people argue.

It even effects Aoi and Minami. However Sapphire cures them.

The attempt didn't go so well, they try fighting each other again. Aoi has spiked knuckles.

Rinko uses her Jewel Stick and that seems to solve the problem for now.

Rinko's Jewel Stick doesn't seem to work on the negative Jewel Pet.

Diana makes her entrance and introduces Dian. I think Diana might have a brother complex.

Dian is talking about some Jewel Game. Whatever that involves.

Dian is challenging Rinko.

Looks like they use cards to pick the game.

The game involves Rinko and Ruby having to race the enemy.

Rinko is not flying as high or fast as others. I get the feeling the siblings were counting on this.

Rinko is flying through the city and having to people. That's got to be fun.

Ah, so there's a bit of a scavenger hunt element involved.

It's the return of the "princess hair", but this time on Ruby.

Ruby won due to her ears!

The negative Jewel Pet gets re-sealed and given to Rinko's team. Then it gets unsealed by Ruby and Rinko. Thus meaning it's no longer negative.

Suwako Moriya

The girls (including Aoi and Minami) are in their magical girl outfits again.

The girls get a quick history lesson about Dian. Your classic evil overlord that gets sealed away by a team of mages.

I get the feeling Dian is only at a fraction of his original power.

Time to turn another Jewel Pet negative.

The negative Jewel Pet causes babies to start acting up. Wait, do you need a negative Jewel Pet for that?

Dian is challenging Rinko again. I'm starting to think that the "negative Jewel Pet" is just bait.

The main Jewel Pet Trio has summoned the Panda that's associated with Rinko's parents.

Seems like the game involves collecting the babies. Rinko's team is at a disadvantage. Especially since Diana's team is using bribery. Plus they're the ones that made the babies "evil".

The Panda decides to it's magic to cure some babies. Whether or not there's enough of them is another story.

Rinko's team wins and gets to make another negative Jewel Pet "positive" again.

Dian's strategy isn't much better than Diana's own strategy.

Even in the series, the Jewel Pet are being merchandised. Except the "King" one isn't selling very well.

Now suddenly people are insulting King.

Diana makes her entrance with the negative Jewel Pet of the week. King recognizes her and isn't happy about this.

Time for another game and it looks like King wants to participate.

Seems to be a game of dodge ball with Ruby and King vs Diana and Negative Jewel Pet.

Seems like King is having trouble motivating himself to fight the negative Jewel Pet. King is just being sad at this point.

Seems like King might have gotten through to her, but only temporarily.

Rinko's team has lost and Diana's team gets to take someone from Rinko's team.

Diana has chosen Rinko. However King gets in the way and causes himself to be chosen instead.

I suppose Diana wanted Rinko because Rinko has the Jewel Stick and once they lose her they're at a serious disadvantage.

Still the fact a human can be chosen begs a lot of questions. Like can they be sealed into a Jewel Charm as well.

Also it makes one curious what an evil Rinko would be like. Or heck maybe they'll have Rinko's friends turn against her and start some emotional conflict. Only time will tell.

Rinko's late for school. Nanase is dragging Rinko with him.

I get the feeling that Diana doesn't care much the Jewel Pet that King is fond of.

Dian uses magic to turn himself into a human.

Rinko and the others seem to be talking about the situation with Nanase.

Dian in human form appears as transfer student to Rinko's class.

Rinko has hearts in her eyes as she thinks of the guy like a prince.

Dian is offering food to Rinko. Yeah, he's trying to get on her good side.

Rinko imagines herself in a wedding dress during a conversation with Dian.

Dian was about to kiss Rinko, but Nanase interrupts.

Nanase vs Dian in basketball. Said Dian apparently still has cat like behavior. Dian is willing to use magic to cheat.

Nanase's team is doing well and this upsets Dian. Dian's anger causes him to lose control of his form. Seems like Dian had to transfer out.

The girls are eating out and discussing food. Including Jewel Land food related stuff.

They're looking at some Jewel Land newsletter(?) and suddenly Diana grabs it in order to read it herself.

Seems like King, Diana and Dian are listed as the worst 3 in that order. King is not happy about being number 1.

With just five jewels remaining Dian can really only do this five more times. Unless he gains other ones.

Jewel Pets are serving food. The negative Jewel Pet for this weeks turns the food bad.

Time for the Diana team to brag about things. King is really getting used to being a villain.

Time for another challenge, but first the main jewel pet trio needs to argue with the trio that was trying to serve food.

King keeps getting knocked away by Dian for saying things that he shouldn't.

Seems to be some type of idol contest. The "cooking" trio is singing.

On a side note, I have to wonder why the great evil Dian is doing these challenges anyway. Seems kind of counter-productive for a villain.

King ruins the popularity of the villain idols.

The "cooking" trio is now joined by the main trio. The six of them are popular.

Diana uses magic to drag everyone to the villain's side and even forces them to clap.

I think the villains are regretting the fact they gained King. He does them more harm than good.

Rinko's team has won once more which is to be expected. Sure one might argue their win rate is too high, but the sooner they get all of the Jewel Charms that Dian is holding, the sooner the story will move on the next phase.

Now the Jewel Pets can return to serving food. Not that having Ruby help is a smart idea.

I sense a Christmas themed episode. Probably because I'm hearing and seeing Christmas related things. Heh, it seems even the villains are familiar with Christmas.

Rinko and Ruby are discussing Santa with the mage that has pink hair.

Rinko has a nice outfit on. So do several others, it would seem.

Rinko introduces Santa(?) and he's not what we were expecting.

Suddenly people are lacking in Christmas spirit and Santa is not happy.

Nanase notices the causes, you'll never guess it's the negative jewel pet of the week.

King is the official punching bag of the series.

The contest involves fishing for presents it would seem.

Rinko gets encouragement from Nanase. Rinko manages to catch something.

Seems like even with that, the villain's side has more weight in terms of caught presents.

The girls talk about the gifts they got from Santa in the past. It figures that Aoi would get such an elaborate item.

The talk about past present from Santa is causing the weight to increase on the good guy's side. I guess that bag was Santa's magic bag of presents. The weight increase was just enough.

With that out of the way, they can get back to celebrating Christmas.

+5 points for the Nanase path in terms of Rinko. I make up numbers because I can.

Heh, even the villains are trying to give each other presents.

Once more we have Rinko in magic school. Only if only Aoi and Minami were attending as well.

Rinko may be getting better with magic in some ways, but still has a few quirks to work out I think.

When training Ruby, wear protective equipment.

I guess they just unsealed a baby jewel pet. Although it was the pink haired mage that did it this time.

The new jewel pet seems to be a bit of a handful.

Ruby and Rinko are given a special test. Which seems to involve going somewhere while following certain rules.

Be brave Rinko, you have a bunny with you. A bunny that just got shocked.

Rinko and Ruby run into problem after problem while trying to reach their destination. Nice that the teachers are watching everything. Suffering being broadcast live.

Looks like the New Jewel Pet has grown up already. Let's offer it food.

This Jewel Pet land is dangerous. Heh, seems like new Jewel Pet went to Rinko and Ruby.

The New Jewel Pet is all powerful! Although even with its help there are still problems.

Rinko's leg has experienced battled damage. Thus she has trouble walking. Forget walking, she can't even stand either.

After much discussion about whether or not Rinko should press on, stuff glows and they get teleported back to the teachers. Apparently they passed the test. Must be one of those hidden test things.

Pink Haired One heals Rinko.

Ruby and Rinko talk to the rest about things.

Ruby leveled up, but leveling up just means a larger explosion.

Rinko ends up trapped inside the television. She and various Jewel Pets act out TV roles from various types of series. I have no idea what's going on anymore in the episode, but it was amusing in a silly way.

Rinko spends quality time with Dian who is in human form. Strange how people get attracted to impostors.

Nice to see Aoi and Minami at least get some screen time again.

I get the feeling Nanase just admitted to liking Rinko. I could be wrong.

Quite a bit of jealousy and suspicion in the episode.

In the preview we have Ruby grabbing Diana by the tail, spinning her, and throwing her. Due to that scene alone, the next episode has to be awesome.

Heh, even before getting the mark the Jewel Pet looked kind of evil.

Another Jewel Game and this time Nanase gets to be involved.

Ruby throwing Diana is a definite highlight moment.

It's sad the only reason Diana's team ever won was because King is pathetic.

Blushing Rinko is adorable.

It's hard to tell how much progress those two are making.

On a side note, I find it amusing that it actually took multiple episodes for the blatant love interest to be introduced as opposed to being right away. Either that or I never really paid attention until later.

Heh, it looks like in the next episode some of the humans from Jew Land will cross over.

Some of the humans from Jewel Land visit our world. Stuff happens.

And this time we get two Jewel Pets unsealed and turned evil, only to get sealed again and purified.

Silly imagination scenes happen.

They seriously need to go on the offensive eventually and put that cat in his place.

The Rinko teams loses and Rinko gets captured. They even turn her into a jewel. Oh, and there was definitely a card theme this time.

Rinko gets unsealed by Dian and then get her Jewel Stick taken away.

Rinko and Dia spend time making food together.

King has become a crazy giant. Well, giant for a Jewel Pet anyway.

King is beyond pathetic. He really is the joke character of the series through and through.

Cake solves the issue. Both King and his err girlfriend are de-pawed.

The two said Jewel Pets help Rink to escape.

Looks like she didn't stay captured long, did she?

So we have six episodes left. Six episodes for either the main villain to reform or get sealed away again.

So just one episode after she escapes, Rinko gets put into a trance by Dian and captured again. I hope they're not planning some sort of yo-yo thing here.

Well, at least we're getting to see Aoi and Minami in their magical girl outfits or whatever you want to call them.

Fear the wrath of the snowmen! If only there was someone that could just melt all of them to death.

Yeah, this is one of those plots where the villain tries to force the lead female into marriage while she's in a trance.

If snowmen don't work then rely on illusions of what people want to see.

Note to the people of Jewel Land, don't bother sealing next time. Find a more permanent solution.

And the ring has not been put on Rinko. It seems like Dian might have accomplished his mission.

Ah, so Rinko is calling for Akira now.

Looks like people are figuring out the illusions now.

Since there are 2-4 episodes left, I'm sure we'll get a dramatic cliffhanger for this episode and most of the episodes now....

Well, at least some of them arrived in time to see Rinko in her current state.

As well as how Dian now has the Jewel Stick. So wait, a ceremony means the guy gets what the girl owns? Something seems wrong about this.

Please punch him again. Once is not enough Akira.

Ah, finally Minami and Aoi arrive. Now if only they had some training and their own Jewel sticks to use.

Time for the villain to escape and he wants Rinko to take his hand. However she grabs Akira's hand instead.

Poor Akira, she just has to wake up before he can kiss her. Well, it's bad for him.

Well, Rinko has been rescued and I'm sure she'll now realize than Andy (Dian's Human form) is not a nice person.

Well, either way Dian has the jewel stick. A stick that changed color because apparently he prefers black to pink and red.

The Baby Jewel pets know the obvious.

For the most part this episode is about Dian launching an attack.

He has some trouble, but ultimately leaves feeling victorious about things.

So four mages get turned to stone and three of them decide to some how transfer their spirits to the charms of the trio.

Oh, and someone got turned into a bee.

Suwako Moriya

Ruby is a Samurai.

Dian is turning more people to stone.

Ruby is going through training.

Rinko, speeches don't work on villains.

Thanks to Akira, Rinko gets her Jewel Stick back.

Akira gets stoned.

What is Jewel Pet of evil to do now? Why of course become a giant!

Rinko's magic seems to be having issues.

Suwako Moriya
03-29-2010, 03:39 PM
Apparently just being a giant isn't enough. Dian needs a bit of a makeover. You know in order to look extra evil.

Ruby returns with a cape! Surely that means she is all powerful now, right?

Ruby unseals a Unicorn! My Little Pony will save us. Well, it's close enough!

Seems like they're trying to imply that Dian is a prisoner of himself...

There's been a lot of flashing in this series.

We also get reminders of past characters. Just in case, we forgot they existed.

A combined attack with the Jewel stick as the focus is used.

In the end, they save Dian from himself.

The usual epilogue scenes happen.

Most importantly the trio are wearing witch outfits in some of the later scenes.

Aoi has an interesting sense of fashion.

One thing that I liked about this is that they didn't keep the Jewel Pets a secret and they made sure to spread them out among the characters. Ie no "X gets everyone" scenario.

It remains to be seen if the next series will be a direct continuation or a reboot.
