Haven't seen the show, or don't know enough about the character:
  Balalaika (Black Lagoon)
  Shidou Hikaru (Magic Knights Rayearth)
  Laharl (Disgaea)
  Mechazawa (Cromartie High School)
  Suzuki Mikura (Mezzo)
  Osaki Nana (Nana)
  Yotsuba Satsuki (Negima)
  Yuriko Starr (Irresponsible Captain Tylor)

Would consider a vote for:
  Euphemia Li Britannia (Code Geass)
  Shitou Haruka (Rahxephon)
Yagami Hayate (Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha)
  Hosaka (Minmai-ke)
  Melfina (Outlaw Star)
  Fujino Shizuru (My-HiME)
Spirit of the Stage (Kaliedo Star)
  Tanaka Yukio "Koyuki" (BECK)

I'm not doing a top 5 this time because there's really not enough to list.

VOTES!
Yagami Hayate (Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha)
  Fujino Shizuru (My-HiME)

Pretty easy. Nobody else this round really counts as a favorite so these two didn't have any real competition. I guess Haruka and Euphemia came closest.

Yeah, I'll decide the other vote a bit later. Problem is most of them are either maybes or ones I need a refresher course on...

Even the last round isn't easy - though again, this a round where I would have picked my choice automatically, so go kansai-ben Hayate-chan!

The second pick though;

Balalaika (Black Lagoon)
Hosaka (Minmai-ke)
Nana Osaki (Nana)
Satsuki Yotuba (Negima)
Spirit of the Stage (Kaliedo Star)
Yukio "Koyuki" Tanaka (BECK)

As egotistical and fun as it would be to pick my namesake (despite catching hell from it from fellow drafters...:P) the ballsy but awesome pick of SATTTCCCHHHAAAANNNN! made it easy. The cutest chubby girl of all time, proving that koalas can be the most deadly animal in the kingdom (well...it's calming effect is anyway...) So yep, second pick for Satsuki Yotsuba.

Hayate Yagami--rules her harem with iron and a smile of unsurpassed sweetness.

Shizuru Fujino--oh, she could stalk me any day!:beatingheart:

Didn't have to do much thinking here. I went with Laharl and Hayate. My recent watch of Nanoha A's definitely puts her up in my mind and above the rest.

This round has a lot of characters that I either never seen or don't really give a damn about. So I ended up voting for Yukio Tanaka and the Fool.

Glad I was able to wrap up my voting before I go on my trip on Monday .

Euphie gets my first vote. :beatingheart:

A list really isn't necessary this time around, but what the hell, why not?

Balalaika
Haruka
Hayate
Hikaru
Laharl
Makoto
Shinichi
Mikura (ala Mezzo Forte)
Nana
Satsuki
Shikamaru
Shizuru
Skuld
Yukio

That's the most yet.

But the second vote goes to Shinichi. No question.

Honourable mention goes to Haruka.

That's too bad, I thought that you *were* going to vote for "yourself." :sdsmiley:

For the final round, it sure is one of the easiest to make choices for. I voted for Hayate Yagami of Nanoha A's (she's so cute and such a sweetheart :beatingheart:) and the awesome Hikaru Shidou of Magic Knight Rayearth.

Since he picked her at my urging, I have to go with Melfina. Also, Yuriko Starr was another easy choice. Outside of those two, there really weren't any characters I care for this round.

My vote went for Hayate of Lyrical Nanoha, and it went to the silent but completely awesome Satsuki Yotsuba of Negima. She is the real awesome character in Negima, everybody respects her and likes her, and she knows everything but keeps it to herself. You know you want to vote for her.. :)

Satsuki Yotuba from Negima and Shizuru Fujino from My-Hime. 90% of the others I'm not familiar with.

Hayate Yagami (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha) was basically an automatic vote. Shizuru Fujino (My-HiME) gets the other vote. Balalaika and Yukiko Starr are the only other characters on the list that stood out and they don't hold a candle to the ones I gave my votes to.

Edit: Wow, lots of Hayate/Shizuru votes this round.

Wow, lots of Hayate/Shizuru votes this round.

I'm actually thinking of giving my other vote to Shizuru. The honest truth is this round isn't exactly flowing with a lot of characters that can even fall into the consideration stage. Most I either barely know or barely remember. Honestly when it comes to the secondary vote, it boils down to the following four characters....

Fool, Spirit of the Stage.
Hosaka
Fujino Shizuru
Shidou Hikaru

Fool has his moments, but he's not exactly the type I'd vote for. Hosaka is amusing in small doses, but beyond that he can be overkill. So I guess both the guys are out it.

So in reality, it boils down to a choice between Shizuru and Hikaru. Both are characters I have mixed feelings on. I'm not sure I can explain why without spoiling. Or heck even with explaining. Both I need a refresher course on.

I guess in the end, I might either just go with the flow and vote for Shizuru. Alternatively I could decide that Hikaru needs some attention. Or I could just vote for Hayate alone. Honestly my primary concern is I want to be able to say I voted for Hayate.

Sattchan?

XD

Oh boy, I still remember her introductory chapter in Negima!. BAD-ASS indeed.

In terms of the last Round, I tend to enjoy this round the most, seeing as we tend to witness a lot of random and/or obscure characters being drafted in this round. It brings back memories from last year's Round 10... :) Another reason would be that I generally have no clue who will do well in this round. Other than possibly Hayate, this year is no exception.

Me: Alright fellas. Thanks for tuning in. For the last time, it's Berman's pick six. And now for the last time I am joined by two cute otakus here.
Nagi: Hello. I am Nagi Sanzenin.
Haruka: Hello. I am Haruka Nogizaka.
Me: Can you believe it? This is the final round. Things sure do go by quickly. And after nine rounds of grueling competition, Emperor Brandon has been crowned the winner of this year's draft.
Nagi: Congratulations, Brandon for winning this event.
Haruka: Yes, Brandon did an excellent job constructing a powerhouse squad.
Me: Time to get this show on the road for the final time.
Haruka: Right. Let's get to our six lucky characters who are in line to get our final votes.
Me: Let's get to it. First up is Euphemia li Britannia. She is a great person to be around, certainly one who hates bloodshed more than anything else and wishes to be able to see eye-to-eye with the Japanese citizens, or Elevens as those dirty Britannians call them.
Haruka: Well something terrible happens to her and if anything, I can't believe what she has to go through. We'll just leave it at that.
Nagi: If only her family were not so ruthless.
Me: Next is Hayate Yagami.
Nagi: Hey, I thought we talked about him in the last round.
Me: No, that was Hayate Ayasaki. This is Hayate Yagami. Were you listening to me?
Nagi: Well, it is just that everytime I hear Hayate, I instantly think about my butler.
Me: This is not the butler, but the magical girl. Like Euphemia, something bad is happening with her. But through a series of hidden agendas all for her sake even if it means the end of the world, that puts a lot of unwanted fighting.
Haruka: And of course, I would also like to have her familiar in my collection.
Me: Next up is Hikaru Shidou, the magic knight. She is one gutsy girl.
Haruka: Right, she is cute and very strong-willed. I want to be like her without losing my anime addiction. But I just don't want to be ridiculed.
Me: Well, with me or Yuto, that will not happen. I guarantee it.
Nagi: She is a perfect guardian to stop those goons from the mafia from getting to me.
Me: Moving right along, we have Melfina, the android that is needed to navigate the Outlaw Star.
Nagi: She is quite the girl we need to pilot a ship. And the key to the Galactic Leyline as well.
Haruka: What more can I say. Couldn't ask for somebody better to pilot that thing.
Me: Moving right along is Shizuru Fujino, the student council president at Fuuka Academy. She is a headstrong gal who can master the art of sneaky tactics.
Nagi: Well, that gal really worries me when she flirts with Natsuki.
Haruka: I loathe yuri. Seriously when I pick up stuff like that I collapse instantly.
Me: And last, but not least, we have Skuld, who is Miss Irrelevant in this year's draft. The goddess of the future who is an engineering genius, she makes one heck of a teammate.
Haruka: I certainly love her a lot. She's really cute and is full of you know what.
Nagi: She would be helpful in keeping those mafia goons at bay. Nobody can outinvent her.
Me: Alright, and for the last time I will present you with a hint to the two lucky ones who receive my votes.
Haruka: Take it away.
Nagi: It's about time now.
Me: Very well, here it is. High School Latte.
Haruka: Alright then. There you have it.
Nagi: Well, this is our last episode of Berman's pick six. But we are not quite done yet.
Me: That's right, there are some more post-draft festivities to come. So from our studio in Bristol, Connecticut, so long.

It took awhile to to decide, but my votes for round 10 have been finalized. I ultimately decided to go with the following two...

Votes
Yagami Hayate
Shidou Hikaru

Yagami Hayate essentially became a lock the second she was drafted. I just couldn't say no to her. Shidou Hikaru essentially boils down to gut feeling. For some reason I felt like voting for her. Regardless the important thing is I voted for Hayate.

Now that I've voted in round 10, I've decided to go ahead and take a look at my voting broke down in regards to both the characters and the drafters.

Based on Characters

One from Azumanga Daioh: Kasuga ~Osaka~ Ayumu
Four from Kanon: Tsukimiya Ayu, Kawasumi Mai, Sawatari Makoto, Minase Yuki
One from Hayate the Combat Butler: Nishizawa Ayumu
Two from Lucky Star: Izumi Konata, Hiiragi Tsukasa
One from Kannagi ~Crazy Shrine Maidens~: Nagi
Two from Aria: Alice Carroll, Mizunashi Akari
Two from Toradora: Aisaka Taiga, Kawashima Ami
One from Minami-Ke: Minami Chiaki
One from Sunshine Sketch: Yuno
One from Maria Watches Over: Fukuzawa Yumi
One from Angelic Layer: Seto Ringo
One from Clannad: Ushio
One from Magic Knight Rayearth: Shidou Hikaru
One from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha: Yagami Hayate

Based on Drafters

One drafted by Emperor Brandon: Ushio
One drafted by ancar: Kawasumi Mai
Three drafted by AdyHart: Konata Izumi, Nagi, Kawashima Ami
Three drafted by TnAdct1: Kasuga ~Osaka~ Ayumu, Tsukasa Hiiragi, Yuno
Two drafted by Spirit of the Stage: Fukuzawa Yumi, Yagami Hayate
One drafted by Buster Blader 126: Minase Nayuki
One drafted by Jimmie M: Shidou Hikaru
Four drafted by Fudce: Nishizawa Ayumu, Alice Carroll, Sawatari Makoto, Seto Ringo
Three from Blusilo: Tsukimiya Ayu, Aisaka Taiga, Mizunashi Akari

Note that I decided to only include series where I voted for at least one character. As well only including drafters who had at least one character I voted for. I figured it would be the best way to keep the list down. I wonder if I should make a "Characters that I wish I could have also voted for" list. I guess the challenge is deciding who to include in that list.

Fudce

Four drafted by Fudce: Nishizawa Ayumu, Alice Carroll, Sawatari Makoto, Seto Ringo

I need to thank you for your support over the draft then. :)

I wonder how I break down:
Clannad: 2 (Nagisa, Ushio)
Hayate the Combat Butler: 2 (Ayumu, Hinagiku)
Lyrical Nanoha: 2 (Fate, Hayate)
Negima: 2 (Nodoka, Satsuki)
Angelic Layer: 1 (Ringo)
Aria: 1 (Alice)
Nyoro~n Churuya-san: 1 (Churuya)
Code Geass: 1 (C.C.)
Genshiken: 1 (Ogiue)
Hidamari Sketch: 1 (Yuno)
Kanon: 1 (Makoto)
Madlax: 1 (Madlax)
Maria Watches Over Us: 2 (Yoshino)
Shugo Chara: 1 (Amu)
Toradora: 1 (Taiga)
and by participant:
Fudce: 10 (duh)
EmperorBrandon: 2 (Amu, Ushio)
Spirit of the Stage: 2 (Yumi, Hayate)
TnAdct1: 2 (Nodoka, Yuno)
bctaris: 1 (Ogiue)
bluesilo: 1 (Taiga)
Foxfossil: 1 (Hinagiku)
Westlo: 1 (Fate)

So I spread the love around it seems, which isn't surprising, since there were so many wonderful characters on display :)

One thing I'd like to see once we've finished is an eleventh poll - seperate from scoring - but which lets us vote for who we feel had the strongest group over all, taking everything into consideration (themes, stories, or even the size of the character's ego's if you want).

As long as we're on the subject, I guess it would probably be good to note that three of your characters fall under the category of "Almost Votes". Ie characters that I might have voted for if not for the competition. The characters being Furakawa Nagisa, Churaya, and Shimazu Yoshino.

One thing I'd like to see once we've finished is an eleventh poll - seperate from scoring - but which lets us vote for who we feel had the strongest group over all, taking everything into consideration (themes, stories, or even the size of the character's ego's if you want).

Granted it would take me time to decide what criteria I'd want to use in regards to deciding who to vote for, but I can definitely support the idea of this extra poll being made. Especially if it allows at least two votes.

Speaking of which. Isn't there supposed to already be an eleventh poll? One that would include the characters in each round that received the most votes. If so then given some of the ties, that's going to be fun to see.

Getting back to criteria, I guess I'd likely go along the lines of the following. I like her, so +50. I dislike her, so -50. No real opinion on her, so no change. Ok, perhaps it won't be as simple as that, but I'm sure my thought process would be along those lines.

ok, a twelvth poll :P

personally I'd prefer three votes each - for people who are participating they'll likely vote for their own team, leaving them only one vote between nineteen teams, which isn't enough.

Three votes does give more breathing room than two, so I'll give support to your idea. I only really went with two due to the already developing pattern. However three is better.

In any case, part of the fun with taking an entire team into consideration is the value of the higher level favorites. It goes without saying that my favorite character out of all the ones drafted is Yuno.

So that forces me to ask the question. Will I be like "All characters I like are worth +50, regardless" or will I decide "Yuno's special, so she's worth +5,000"? That's one thing that could come up for me.

I was talking about votes for a "best team" poll for this year, but I wouldn't mind an increase in votes for next year too. That said, it was suggested last year that the number of votes be increased for this year too, but it wasn't agreed upon.

Guess I'll do this too.

Lumberjack - 1 (Simon)
Azumangaman - 1 (Fujino Shizuru)

By gender:
Male - 2 (Kyon, Simon)
Female - 18 (Uh, everyone else)

Apparently I only vote for males that go by one name. But if one of you bums had drafted Okazaki Tomoya, you would almost certainly have gotten my vote!
I also somewhat expected two of the Nanoha girls to be stuck in a round against each other at some point, but it didn't happen.

Edit: BTW, Fudce - Nodrenda, round 5, you have the wrong Akari listed in the text version down at the bottom. Mizunashi rather than Kamigishi.

Rather anti-climactic vote since the ultimate end is already known.

Don't feel like doing big a breakdown right now.

Sat-chan would have been in if I included manga.
Laharl would have had a chance if I thought the anime was anywhere as enjoyable as NIS's games

Winners:
Hikaru Shidou: So much put on such small shoulders yet she carries it well.
Yukiko Starr: Anyone who can even try to wrangle Tylor gets a vote.

Guess I'll do my breakdown as well, in similar style to something.

By series:
Clannad - 2 (Nagisa, Ushio)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - 2 (Kyon, Yuki)
Aria - 2 (Alice, Akari)
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha - 2 (Nanoha, Hayate)
Cardcaptor Sakura - 1 (Sakura)
Fruits Basket - 1 (Tohru)
School Rumble - 1 (Harima)
Toradora - 1 (Taiga)
Code Geass - 1 (C.C.)
Princess Tutu - 1 (Rue)
Magic User's Club - 1 (Sae)
Kanon - 1 (Makoto)
Angelic Layer - 1 (Misaki)
Shugo Chara - 1 (Amu)
Outlaw Star - 1 (Gene)
Disgaea - 1 (Laharl)

By participant:
EmperorBrandon - 10 (Sakura, Kyon, Tohru, Harima, Nanoha, Sae, Misaki, Amu, Ushio, Laharl)
Fudce - 4 (Nagisa, Alice, C.C., Makoto)
bluesilo - 2 (Taiga, Akari)
TnAdct1 - 1 (Yuki)
martialstax - 1 (Rue)
RedCorvus - 1 (Gene)
Spirit of the Stage - 1 (Hayate)

By gender:
Male - 4 (Kyon, Harima, Gene, Laharl)
Female - 16 (Nagisa, Sakura, Yuki, Alice, Tohru, Taiga, C.C., Nanoha, Rue, Sae, Makoto, Misaki, Amu, Akari, Ushio, Hayate)

Seems I was rather varied as far as series goes. There were only a few that I voted for two characters from, and none with three or more. I stuck with my team on voting throughout the draft this time. Out of the other participants, Fudce got several, which is not surprising since his tastes can be similar to mine. Female votes dominate male votes, though males are a decent one fifth of my votes (Gene was the only one that was not part of my team, though).

Tomoya was on my mind for some time, but I couldn't resist wanting to draft Ushio in the end (and she did well despite my worries that not enough would know her). Tomoya might have been drafted by someone in Round 10 if it hadn't been for the danged 5-limit which I don't like (tends to keep Takino Tomo from being drafted, which makes me sad :( )

Congrats Spirit of the Stage!

Coach Spirit, did you believe Hayate was going to win this round in such a manner? How excited are you to win round 10?

For all coaches, did you do better than you expected, about what you expected or worse than you expected? Will you try and be back for next years draft?

Thank you to all the coaches who answered my questions and put up with me.

I did slightly worse than I thought I would do, but I'm happy that I got some good votes, especially in rounds one and three. I wasn't in it to win it, and so I got what I paid for and had some fun :)

Congratulations to Spirit of the Stage - you kept telling me that Hayate was your best chance of winning a round, and you were proved right.

Also congratulations again to EmperorBrandon. :)

I did worse than I expected with my whole harem doing so poorly. Even Shikamaru did better than any of the girls from rounds 2-8. I will be back next year, with a different theme that may have some people returning for another try depending on what direction I decide to go for that draft.;)

As before, better than expected. :)

I think I might be back next year. There are some different characters I'll want to try, undoubtedly, so it could be fun to play again.

I expected Hayate to be along with Sakaki, my best chance of winning a round, but to do that well was a surprise. And of course Fudce had to be evil (you only got 6 votes...fortunately Hayate got 21...:P) - and yes, very happy to win the finale and give my ego a little boost. :P

TBH, I did a hell of a lot better than expected. This was my first attempt at a theme idea, and ironically I think it's been my best draft so far. In fact, aside from Hotaru in Round 4, all my characters finished in the top 10, with a few top 5's (Yumi, Sakaki, Hayate, Tomoyo, Yakumo) and some doing a hell of a lot better than expected (Setsuna, mainly due to a split vote, and Kirino, mainly because I didn't think anyone knew who she was...). I know next year assuming I get in is more specialised than the psuedo-yuri theme so probably won't do this well again, but the fun of the draft just lures you in, especially with a lot of the evil 'rivalries' that occured (yes ancar, I'm looking at you...:P)

And Nos, you're always a great reporter - though you pulled double duty with showing us folk how to draft a theme and do awesome as well - no problems whatsoever!

First I'd like to say Nana did awesome this round, 8 votes is way beyond what I expected her to get and I thank every single person that voted for her. Hayate really dominated this round maybe I should check out Nanoha too congrats SOTS.

Now to answer Nos' question

For all coaches, did you do better than you expected, about what you expected or worse than you expected? Will you try and be back for next years draft?

Thank you to all the coaches who answered my questions and put up with me.

I thought my team had a really good draft especially with the girls I drafted.
I dont know this for sure but I think my team had the most girls with first draft appearences and from unlicensed series with six girls out of ten (can anyone confirm this).
I thought the new girls would have struggled but luckily they all did great (from my expectations for them) and Konata winning her round was a real victory for my team as I thought they would be hard pressed to win a single round.
Overall I am really happy with how my draft went, I never played to win and I drafted characters regardless of how well they may perform and because of that I had a much more fun draft than last year.
Without a doubt I will enter next years draft, if I can, as I have enjoyed it the times I have entered so if Dunno starts it again next year I'd be happy to participate.

Big thanks go to:
Dunno001 - For organising the whole draft once again
Nosredna - for being the awesome touchline reporter/interviewer he always is.
Bermanism - For his great interviewing in the drafting rounds
Fudce - For doing the great draft board and going the extra distance with punnerific captions
Voters - To everyone that voted for my girls and to everyone who voted overall in the draft
All the Coaches - Without all of you people adding your little touches and spin to the draft with stories and rivalries (Im looking at you Fudce and SOTS) it wouldn't be as much fun.

Ive had a lot of fun and Im glad I took part again this year all that is left for me to do is congratulate our winner.
Even though it was done and dusted in round 9 I waited till it was over so it was officially official so a well deserved victory for EmperorBrandon and I hope you will take part next year too :sdsmiley:

Me: Alright, we are back and this time we will breakdown our votes to the 20 who stood out to the three of us.
Nagi: OK, first let's break it down by series. Getting three votes is Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Getting two votes are Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star. And the following series each got a single vote from us: Ah! My Goddess, Aria, Bleach, Clannad, FLCL, Full Metal Alchemist, Fate Stay Night, Hayate the Combat Butler, Negima, Ouran Host Club, Please Teacher, Slayers, and School Rumble.
Haruka: Now, let's break down the votes by player. Getting three votes are Laputa and TnAdct1. Getting two votes are Buster Blade 126 and Westlo. Getting one vote are Adyhart, Ancar, Azumangaman, Blue Silo, Emperor Brandon, Fox Fossil, Fudce, Nosredna, Red Corvus, and Spirit of the Stage.
Me: All in all, a total of 17 female characters and three male characters received votes. Well, my job is almost over as I have one more question left to ask to all the players and then my job as a booth reporter is complete. This time, I am letting Nagi ask it.
Nagi: Alright players. Here is the final question to be asked.

To all the players:
Assess your team's performance in the polls. Who from your team did better than expected and who was your biggest disappointment? Overall, did you do as well as you thought you were going to, or better or worse than expected?

Nagi: Alright then, back to you.
Me: Right. So, now my job is just about complete here as the booth reporter from the studio in Bristol, Connecticut. While I had a great time here at the studio, I would like to become a GM. Hopefully next year I can stay in Columbus, Ohio and build a team to be reckoned with. It's too bad that TBDOITL could not be started. I might try again next year now that I know who I should have taken in order to make this organization a reality. I could either stay with this theme that I had hoped to build or go in a different direction that has more powerhouse characters in it.
Nagi: I sure hope you do create it in 2010.
Haruka: Well, whatever the case, it has been fun working with you in the booth. I do hope that you consider trying again with this group in next year's draft.
Nagi: If you do decide to go that way, with Konata and us on this squad, we will be unstoppable. Other otakus out there better watch their backs cuz we are about to show the whole anime community who's boss.
Me: Alright then, after the interviews are finished, it will be time to head on out.

Thank you to all the coaches who answered my questions and put up with me.

I think I did right about where I expected-I was aiming to finish in the top 15 but I ended up about 2.5 points short (16th). Still, it's better than the past finishes that I've had so I'm happy with the result. And yes, I'd like to try again in next year's draft (Hopefully with a higher finish).

You did pretty good yourself on your first Draft in a long while along with the excellent questions that you had for us. Thanks for the great job! :)

Furthermore, I only voted for two males (technically Shinichi counts, I guess ), with the other 18 votes going to female characters.

For all coaches, did you do better than you expected, about what you expected or worse than you expected? Will you try and be back for next years draft?

That small, competitive side of me would say otherwise, but shoving that aside, I'd say that I did about as well as I expected, by the end of it all.

And yes, I do intend to play again next time. It was fun!

Assess your team's performance in the polls. Who from your team did better than expected and who was your biggest disappointment? Overall, did you do as well as you thought you were going to, or better or worse than expected?

I find it interesting how about half of the girls that I initially thought would surely do well didn't, while the ones I was unsure of due to various reasons or didn't expect them to do too well exceeded expectations.

Overall, I thought that my first three picks didn't do as well as I anticipated, so to speak. After Motoko fared poorly in the first round, I subsequently lowered my expectations for Yomiko and Yukino considerably. Yomiko still did decently well, though Yukino didn't fare too well. Though in the end, I still was fine with their results, since I anticipated them getting a lower number of votes than before.

On the other end of the spectrum, Mizuho surprised me the most. I picked her more for my love for her rather than her potential to bring in votes - I missed drafting her last year, so I sure as hell wasn't going to this year! A certain number of former powerhouses of past drafts weren't doing as well this year to various degrees (Belldandy and Yukino, for example), so I thought that a similar thing would happen to Mizuho. I guess drafting her later this year helped, which led to her doing better than I expected. :)

Other surprises included Rin, Euphemia, and Holo/Horo. Unless I'm mistaken, this year was the debut draft year for both Rin and Euphie, so I wasn't sure how well they'd do - yet they both did relatively well, 2nd and a 3-way tie for fourther, respectively. Horo is a different case. Watching Spice and Wolf influenced me to draft her as soon as the opportunity presented itself, and while I knew that Horo had the potential to do really well given her results last year, I wasn't sure how well she would do in Round 5, given the additional competition present. Simply put, she did not disappoint. :beatingheart:

Congratulations to everyone, especially EmperorBrandon. The thing I liked about his team is that he wasn't playing to win. It wasn't Serious Business for him. He was just having fun and picked a lot of great characters that he honestly loved. It's no wonder the votes kept flowing his way.

In this round, I voted for Yuriko (not Yukiko) Starr from The Irresponsible Captain Tylor since she was my own pick. She tied for third, so she is obviously still well-liked around here. I also voted for Haruka Shitow from RahXephon. It broke my heart not voting for Satsuki Yotsuba from Negima, but the anime version of Satchan just isn't as well realized a character as the manga version. On the other hand, Haruka is such an amazing character, I really should have had her on my team in the first place.

I finished mid-pack, which is pretty much what I expected. I doubt I'll be playing again next year. This was my first Anime Draft, and I was somewhat underwhelmed. No offense to Dunno001 who did a fine job running it (and had to take a lot of crap behind the scenes from people who were taking it far too seriously), but a popularity contest doesn't really turn my crank. To be honest, I found it rather boring. I'm not completely ruling out playing next year, but at the moment, all signs point to no.

Thank you to all the coaches who answered my questions and put up with me.

You're welcome. And thank you.

To all the players:
Assess your team's performance in the polls. Who from your team did better than expected and who was your biggest disappointment?

First of all, thanks for providing us with good questions throughout the voting stage. You did a good job & I'll look forward to seeing what team you come up with in next year's Draft.

As to how my team did-I'd say that Miko Mido did better than expected. In fact, I wasn't really expecting more than maybe 2 votes at the most since she's a hentai character so her getting 4 was a victory in itself so I'm satisfied with how she did.

Biggest disappointment? I'm not sure if I had any, really. If you want to go by pure numbers then both Tomoyo Sakagami & Natsumi Tsujimoto would both have been because they got so few votes (Especially Natsumi since she's my team captain) but it's no biggie. I was in this for the fun from the beginning & I've enjoyed it despite not placing very highly. I was glad to see Hikaru do as well as she did here in Round 10 so the Draft can end on a high note for my team.

-Everyone who voted for Hikaru here in Round 10 & for Team Bokuto throughout the Draft
-You & Nosredna for the great questions that you both posed to us
-Dunno001 for keeping things running smoothly as always
-My fellow coaches for the banter & fellowship that makes each Draft so much fun to be a part of
-Fudce for doing an excellent job in running the Big Board

Congratulations to:
-SOTS on winning the round
-EmperorBrandon on winning the Draft (Well done! :))

See you all again in the next Draft! :)

Thanks to everyone who voted for my team and to the people who ran the draft (Dunno, Fudce and Nos)

Congratulations to the winners!

I had fun this year and if I'm still around the boards in one years time, I'm sure I'd like to do this again.

And the smallest number of votes for a single character ever...ahahha :noodle::cool:

Sorry to inform you, but you're going to be joining people in a tie there. I'm still missing my 2007 master file, but 2006 shows there were 3 characters who got 1 vote: Gorobei from Samurai 7 in round 6, plus both Van of Gun X Sword and Xelloss from Slayers in round 10.

As for finalizing things, sorry, yesterday was another 16 hour workday, and now I'm trying to get things done today that I wanted to do last night, so I'll get the official results up later tonight (my time).

I'm pretty certain that one character even got 0 votes one year - think it was 2007, but I think it was Kazuki Sendo from Comic Party...

I am quite surprised that not even the player who drafted him voted for him. I would think that everybody would at least vote for their own guy.

And you are correct. Kazuki Sendo got 0 poll votes in the 2007 Anime Draft - Round 6. 2007 had some 1 poll vote characters as well, including:

Nabeshin from Excel Saga - Round 1
Vash the Stampede from Trigun and Recca Hanabishi from Flame of Recca* - Round 2
Hibari Ginza from Speed Grapher and Arika Yumemiya from My-Otome - Round 3
Ueki Koseke from The Law of Ueki and Youko from Inukami! - Round 4
Yayoi Matsunaga from Nightwalker - Round 7

*Recca was a round 11 pick to fill a missed pick in round 2

The ill-fated 2005 Anime Draft also had several characters who only received 1 poll vote: Ryo-Ohki from Tenchi Muyo - Round 3, Miko Mido from La Blue Girl - Round 5, The Guyver from the original Guyver OVA and D's Left Hand from Vampire Hunter D - Round 8
