TMS has released a trailer, strangely enough in english. Could there be negotiations for a stateside release? The Lost Canvas will be released as an OVA series, both in Blu-Ray and DVD. The first disc will be released this June in Japan.
It's based on a prequel manga to Saint Seiya (most likely alternate universe as well, since there's also Next Dimension), set in Europe in the 18th Century.
Here's the trailer, although it's a low quality video:

It is interesting, especially since Guin Saga recently had an English trailer as well. Either it means that there are companies that have licensed them already or it means that the Japanese licensors are pushing even harder to get their shows licensed.
Hopefully for Lost Canvas it's more of a case of the former than the latter.

It would be nice if it gets licensed, but i highly doubt it when the no one even bothered to continue/license the remaining original Saint Seiya series, and it's sequels
I believe that we have a better chance of convincing the parent company (TMS/VAP) to include English sub in the BD/DVD releases than asking one of the R1 companies to license it. Why ? This show has pretty much the same situation like Hokuto No Ken for the R1 market, farily high licensing fees (due to it's popularity in Japan & many other countries) yet not much return. It sucks but that's how it is :depressed:
But then again, never say never ;)

Well, this is different in the sense that you don't need to have seen the original. Especially since it takes place in the 18th Century, and the cast is completely new, sans 2 characters.
