Go to the page where they announced vol.4
Thanks, you really made my day. I'm grabbing the dvds, so I guess finally a blu-ray as well. The series imho is really really good but saddly often overlooked plus it's free to watch on CR. Any more info on this as my japanese is pretty much nonexistant.

I thought this already came out on BD. Was that the movie version?

I didn't see it on Amazon Japan. And from the looks of it, there was existing thread for this already: [JP] Time of Eve (http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=92722). The movie thread: [JP] Time of Eve movie (http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=100050).

Original OVA never made it to BD format despite the official announcement long time ago. Movie BD came out not so long ago, original OVA BD, was sold in comiket and a specific web store very recently. For a regular retailer though, this is the first time.

I'll be interested to see what this does to the price of the movie. I've heard that the two are nearly identical and I like the cover of the movie way more than this one. Maybe they'll eventually price drop one on Amazon.

AND perhaps for the English subtitles? :) According to the 2ch poster who already got the exclusive release, the OVA edition includes Eng sub.

No, actually, that doesn't bother me, but I guess it would be nice to be able to show it to other people too, good stuff.

I'd wait for some other confirmation. I was checking the official site and found a pic of the set up menu in the production blog.

There's a subtitle option (definitely Japanese. note how there's no mention of English anywhere)

Same here. If it has English subtitles, it will be buying it quite enthusiastically. I don't buy import releases without English subtitles, though.
Time to wait for a more trust-worthy source than "some guy on 2ch."

Good. I wonder if they're the CR subs.

I might wait until it's listed on CD Japan before ordering. I supposed it could hypothetically be cheaper to order on Amazon due to their discounts, but with Amazon.co.jp's shipping I think that'd only apply to those 30,000-60,000 yen items, not smaller stuff like this.
This could be a good chance to make a large Amazon.co.jp order in order to make the shipping rate more efficient, starting with that "Tokyo Ordinance" Nogami Takeshi doujinshi. And hey, maybe some soundtracks. But I'm not sure my budget could take such a massive, unexpected load.

Pre-ordered. Almost 40% of the order price being shipping doesn't bother me. This is in my top 5 all time favorites. Bring it on. :)

what is the difference btw the ova and the movie? new animation (reimaged/reworked story) or cast changes or just the ova cut down to movie time constraints with a few new minutes of animation for the movie?
sorry not familiar with this title.

The movie has a nice theme song from Kalafina. No idea what else is different since I have not watched the movie version. Just doesn't seem like it'd feel right as a film to me. Could be wrong.

There is some new animation, especially at the beginning, and new edits. It makes it a bit more coherent, I guess, and certainly makes it "feel" like a film imo, whereas I guess ZenErik would have a legitimate worry otherwise. Running time is basically the same.

Received my copy. Although it has already been stated, I just wanted to say that English subtitles are present. :) Haven't watched more than a minute so far, but they seemed decent enough.
I got mine today as well. It's definitely interesting to see the extra sets of the reversible covers.

But none with the elderly man/android (no spoiler. :P). At least we got the out of date android for a cover, haha.

Crap. Now I really want to buy this. Wanted to wait to get confirmation of the English subs, but now the 26% discount on Amazon is gone. Maybe it will come back someday? Or maybe there are cheaper places to buy it from??

I watched all the episodes yesterday. There are quite a lot of typos. At least what I consider a lot. It seems like the amount of errors increase with each episode. I am not sure whether these subs were taken from Crunchyroll because I did not watch the series on Crunchyroll.
Either way, it is one of my all time favorites. The errors are annoying, but I quickly got over it because I love the series so much.

Hmmm .... I received this this morning and watched it through this evening. Whilst there may well have been typos I can't say I actually really noticed them enough to recall afterwards what they were so I can't say that they were bad enough to really stand out and interrupt the flow.
Nice show, reasonable release would be my take on it.
