Sorry to make a thread for such a minor query, but I didn't see any dedicated Geass thread I could ask in...

But I've just started rewatching Code Geass from the start with some friends and we just reached Episode 22(Bloodstained Euphemia) and there's a scene I'd forgotten about that I don't recall ever being answered/resolved by the end of R2. It's the bit where Zero arrives in the Gawain to speak to Euphemia and Suzaku is able to 'sense' CC inside the Gawain, to which CC has some sort of suspicion about why Suzaku can sense her that may be something other than when she 'went into his mind' earlier in the season and she gets out of the Gawain to ask Suzaku something like if 'He's the one that...' before she collapses in pain.

I don't recall this coming up again and no one else who saw the series I asked can remember it coming up again either.

Anyone else know if this got answered, or was it just 'forgotten' between seasons or something?

Any thoughts appreciated, thanks.

In the original plotting Suzaku was supposed to have a special connection to the Geass stuff but when they reorganised R2 they dropped the idea because they didn't have enough time to flesh it out. The same thing happened with the Geass cult in R2 which was never really properly explained.

I thought that might have been it, but I wasn't sure just how much Geass R2 got 'retooled' from the first season. Damn shame there'll never be any resolution on the issue.

Thanks for the info, man. Appreciated.

In the original plotting Suzaku was supposed to have a special connection to the Geass stuff but when they reorganised R2 they dropped the idea because they didn't have enough time to flesh it out.

Basically, the connection would be that his superhuman abilities (being able to move really fast or do spinkicks, for example), which were still kept in the show, would be explained through his having a Geass power.

Not sure exactly how that would work, but that was apparently the idea which they then dropped due to the referenced complications.

The same thing happened with the Geass cult in R2 which was never really properly explained.

Well...you could say Geass-related matters received less attention overall in terms of explanations, but the Geass cult was at least briefly hinted as possibly being something born out of the "religion" which was created around C.C. way back when. It's not really spelled out though, but it sort of makes enough sense if you try to organize the pieces of information.

really? Where did that come from I missed that idea at all. So the cult that the emperor used in his attempt to bring about the end of the world was basically started by CC? That puts a new spin on things.
