In Summary:
Taking a break from any further development of Hayate's relations with the women around him, we get two side stories focusing on relatively minor characters. The comedy quotient is high in these stories, even if fans more interested in the main characters might be a little bored with these two digressions. Still, the comedy is handled with a fairly light touch, and will provide half an hour of diversion. There is a bit of imbalance, as the first half comes off a bit funnier than the second half, as Wataru, Saki, and Sonia are inherently better comedic characters than Yukiji, who has all the subtlety of a jackhammer. Still, the jokes largely work, and if silly antics, bumbling criminals, drunken clueless teachers, and references to decades old Japanese dating shows make you laugh, then this show will be for you.
