A second season of Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu has been confirmed . . .
The airing of the second season of otaku maiden anime Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu was announced in the latest issue of Dengeki Bunko, the same issue which revealed news of a new Shakugan no Shana series, and it is set for an October airing.
As the first season certainly had its moments, fans of the show will likely be excited by the prospect of even more of the closet-otaku girl.
Also . . .
The July issue of ASCII MediaWorks' Dengeki Bunko Magazine will reveal on June 10 that the "Shana Project is restarting" with a "new anime in development" for Shakugan no Shana. The first Shakugan no Shana anime is based on Yashichiro Takahashi and Noizi Ito's fantasy light novels. The magazine will also reportedly announce that the second television anime season based on Yūsaku Igarashi's Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu otaku romance comedy light novel will premiere in October.

Yes, the fact that this was coming has been known for some time and was advertised on the splash page of the official site (http://www.nogizaka-haruka.com/) for the last few months. What's new now is that it's been given an airdate of October. When this was originally mentioned they said that both the cast and crew for the second series would be the same. So anyway, good news as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, getting a date is wonderful. Looks like we have something very nice to look forward to come Fall 2009.

Yup- this is one that I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing. Hopefully it'll be more of what the early part of the series was like and less of the less-stellar last few episodes (though the last few minutes were fairly redeeming...).

I wonder if we'll get a BD release this time around. Although it's about four months too early to ask that question.^^U
In any case, I hope the second cour doesn't feel as rushed as the first one did at the end. Something like the pace of the first half would be good, I think.

I'm definitely looking forward to more Nogizaka sisters and think I was wondering about when on this not too long ago. Nice to hear some confirmation. :)

So far, I think Diomedea is one of those few hold-out studios that hasn't yet made the jump to HD. Polyphonica Crimson S is their most recent work, and it is still SD 16:9. Granted that they'll have to make the jump at some point, and I'd love for this production to be the one. We'll see...
new Shakugan no Shana series
Am I the only one who thinks the (admittedly excellent) news about Haruka S2 is completely overshadowed by this fantastic little tidbit?
edit: nevermind, I see it has it's own thread below this one.

I still haven't seen any of Shana, so it can't really overshadow it for me. I'm kind of interested so may pick up the set of the first series at some point, though.
Speaking of which, one thing I noticed as I was looking around is that Kugimiya Rie will have a role in the second series of Nogizaka Haruka.

Hopefully the second season will retain the good elements of the first while improving on the weaker aspects. On an individual level I liked most of the episodes. Yet, in some ways it felt like the show lacked something to bring everything together.

Suddenly my interest in the second season has increased. Could it possibly be related to information in the post I'm quoting?
