Taking a queue from Chris on this one, because SC is just waaaaay too long and I don't relish the idea of making fifty+ threads.

Episode #002 (http://www.mania.com/shugo-chara-episode-002_article_115425.html)
In Summary:
What I liked about this episode in particular is that the big fight scene with the X Egg spanned a grand total of perhaps a minute. Rather than place an emphasis on what would quickly become very trite and family-friendly action, the show seems to focus more on character interaction with a thin but savory spread of comedy. Comedy which I found, in more than one instance, to be legitimately funny. I do truly hope it doesn’t devolve into a Sad-Kid-of-the-Week show where Amu & Co. help said sadsack while the evilly smirking man, hiding just out of sight, causes X Eggs to burst fourth from their bodies like avian chestbursters, whereupon Amu must shoot lasers at it until it returns to normal. Because that’s really the last thing we need.
I don't like the looks of that three-digit episode count. Ohhhh boy :(

Better get used to that action footage, as you're going to see it appear again, and again, and again, and again…
You have it pegged right that it's the character interaction that makes the best of this show.
