So they're sticking with Fathom, from what I've heard the Sword of the Stranger video quality was quite bad, so hopefully they'll do a better job this time.

I think it varies from theater to theater (the equipments more or less). I know I had no issues @ my local theater.

This seemed to be the opinion around the time Stranger came out. The theater I saw Viz Fathom's events in was fine (Except for some reason L-Change the World seemed fairly murky) but a different theater got Sword of the Stranger and it was horribly murky there. I guess I see which theater it shows up at.

Nice to see confirmation that it will be dubbed. After the Lucky Star ordeal, I wasn't too sure about any safe bets of "sequels/remakes" getting a dub just because the original did.

I couldn't find any info on what theaters it will appear at. Is it too early for that information?

It looks like it's a little to early for that. I'm sure it will be revealed once it's closer to the release date of the movie.

I know that this is pretty early to ask, but is there any idea at all when this will probably be released to DVD in the U.S.?

I'd wager an Early 2010 (February or March seems likely) DVD release. Although as you said, its still way too early to tell or ask.

Thanks, and that's alright, I was only expecting a guesstimate :).

Well, best guess would be to look at the amount of time that passed between the Sword of the Stranger theatrical showing and it's DVD release and think Bandai might aim for a similar plan. However, there are no hard and fast rules to this type of release (or any really, no where is the concept of a Bi-monthly release set in stone) and with Bandai seeming to delay a significant portion of it's releses these days, no one could predict a date with any certainty (or how many times that it might get delayed on the way).

Not to throw a wet blanket on things, but as much as I liked the series and considered buying the Japanese movie blu-ray, I'm now glad I didn't. The movie just isn't good. Not just my opinion, I've seen only one positive review so far, and several bad ones. I was glad when I heard they were making an E7 movie that wasn't a recap, but things were better off left alone.

Sword of the Stranger had a theatrical release in U.S./North American theaters?

Or are you talking about Japanese theaters?

But then again whos too say it will be 5 months, bandai has been delaying things so much nowadays that it may be longer and even way longer than 5 months, just looks at how long it took them too release the anime legends collection of eureka seven.

All im saying is dont get your hopes up.

Perhaps they will calculate it that after the delays it will be a 5 months...

I can't help but agree. I absolutely love the series and consider it one of my all time favorites, but the movie was an utter disappointment. It's kind of an un-involving mess that pretty much destroys the characters and needlessly complicates the plot. It doesn't even make much sense on it's own even though it exists separately from the series. I wish they would have just continued the tv story instead.
