I ask this because I've noticed recently people mocking other people as weaboos just for referring to the NES as the Famicon, even if it's used to talk about NES games that only came out in Japan

I don't think it should be "weeaboo" to call the NES the Famicom. If you're referring to the Japanese NES you should just call it the Famicom, simple as that.

Question has been answered, so locking. The discussion of the term "weeaboo" has nothing at all to do with gaming discussion and is a term that might be better discussed on 4chan.
