Was there a second season (or movie) made of Tenjho Tenge? I've finished the eight volumes that Geneon released, but the final volume strongly implied there was more story left (since they never got to the "present day" Imperial Tournament, nor did they finish the story arcs involving several of the characters).

Read the manga.

Basically.

The Geneon release had everything that was made and as long as its been since the series came out in Japan, its highly unlikely there will ever be any more.

Also its worth noting that after about the point the anime stops the manga pretty much loses all coherence because Oh Great! sucks at plotting.

I've only read a few chapters of the Tenjho Tenge manga, but I read a few of his short works. I don't remember much about them, but I do recall that they were weird and didn't make much sense.

Not that anime was a paragon of coherence.

I daresay I thought the Tenjou Tenge anime was a steaming mass of brown stuff -even worse than Ikki Tousen (cuz at least Ikki was etchi and funny)

The anime also completely butchered the character designs.

Agree
I have to admit that struck me as odd.
Madhouse dont usually do that bad a job on porting Manga art to anime - X-TV, Claymore, CCS, Death Note etc are all pretty good
- But in the case of the Tenjou Tenge anime - jeez it was awful....

Did they have sex in them? (This is actually a serious question. *remembers Silky Whip*)

I thought it looked fine actually, without factoring in the original manga's art.

I'm more of the opinion that Oh Great's art is too good to replicate.

Implied sex and lots of tits.

Oh it could be done, but Madhouse wasn't interested in investing the money to do so.

I was actually referring to the short works that he read, granted I wasn't being specific enough.

*Is aware of tits and implied sex in TenTen manga. Chiaki getting "attacked" my ass.*

Point taken.

I don't remember whether there was actual sex or just nudity and general raciness, though I think Silky Whip was one of the ones I was thinking of.

Hmm . . . so can I pick up (in the manga) right where the anime ends? And (if so) what volume would that be?
