So does anime come out looking good or bad from these clips? And can the same be said about Bang Zoom/Manga Ent?

I'd have to say that both come out looking bad. The clips have their moments, but can't see them having any kind of positive effect. If someone's first exposure to anime is the ridicule of very brief clips then I doubt he'll give it a serious chance. (I should probably mention that I don't have any attachment to Ghost in the Shell or Blood, so I'm not mad about those being butchered or anything like that.) Bang Zoom only comes off badly by association, I think. But there's something like comfort in the fact that Conan and his colleague are the ones who make themselves look worst. They're invited into a studio, allowed to film a session...and those are the best manners they can come up with? Thank you, gentlemen. You've reminded me why I don't watch TV anymore.

I think that sums some of it up for me as well.

Yeah, I thought this only served the purpose of knocking anime and voice acting in general. Not only was he badly mocking the VA process, but he was doing it with genuinely bad anime. GiTS one time and Blood: the Last Vampire another? Seriously? Bang Zoom couldn't pick something better to showcase what they do? But I knew this sequence was going to go sour the minute I saw a rep from Mangle on-screen.

To be honest, I can't really claim that those clips paint anime in a good light. Then again, I never expected them to. Since after all the primary concern of a comedy like Conan is to try to be funny. Whether or not, it succeeds is a case by case basis dependent on the particular segment and the person viewing it.
Also, I have to be perfectly blunt here. Any person that watched a comedy show like say Conan for example and then decides that a type of entertainment is crap just because of a joke segment is a person who has an opinion that should be considered completely worthless.
Heck anyone watching shows like Conan should probably assume any segment is going to include inaccuracies (sometimes on purpose), direct stabs, and so forth.

Basically. This isn't going to do much for the image of anime fans in the mainstream. While it was funny to watch, it was also a little painful in some ways.

I thought this was pretty funny. I just didn't take this seriously. But if I was new to anime watching this, I'd probably be turned off and look elsewhere. Though you really can't always agree with these types of segments.

That was funny. They should make a cameo in one of Bang Zoom's next dubs.
