Do they releases boxes to contain all the singles? I'm not talking about boxsets The only one I've seen is FMA:Brotherhood. I'm currently collecting Eden and I've yet to see a box, do they releases the boxes with the last Blu-ray or not at all? I'm also interested for Bakemonogatari's sake.

Varies depending on the show. Macross Frontier for instance had boxes that came with volumes 5 and 9, but only with the first pressing copies.

To my utter anger, is there a more effective way of going about this as I JUST found out about the store exclusive box for Eden. This is absolutely ridiculous how they do this. I'm now terrified that I'm going to miss a box for Bakemono or FMA in the future not to mention other potential series.

Most official websites have a section listing any store bonuses. If it's one you have to mail away for, read the card that comes with the DVD. Otherwise, read the official solicitation, and it will indicate if it comes with a box or not.

What Draneor said, plus you'll want to preorder limited edition ones.

I already do that. However for stuff like Eden where it wasn't mentioned and there wasn't a limited edition, it's a pain. I don't speak Japanese so the only way I can figure stuff out regarding store specials is through word of mouth. I mean Eden I found out about through this forum. It's an absolute pain though for something as important as art boxes to be released per store(although I'm not sure if Eden was a oneshot in that regard) or keep wondering if a series like Bakemono will ever have a box.

Well, I can't help about the Japanese part (I'm far from fluent myself), but it was mentioned on the official website (http://juiz.jp/blog/goods/).

It's normal for various stores to offer exclusive bonuses. It's just how that market works.

I'm sure it was. I just wish there was some sort of database or something so that it would be easier to find this info out. Nothing anybody can really do about it though.:relief:

I guess I'm just going to have to randomly check any series' official website to check for box info.

It was mentioned in the Eden of the East thread: http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=92562

I'm aware. I'm just saying for other releases.

What releases are you interested in? You can always ask for help.

Ok here we go. Maybe we can turn this thread into something of Q&A for this(assuming there already isn't one).

Black Lagoon Blu-ray release
Nyan Koi
Bakemonogatari
Darker than Black S2
Canaan
Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari

Thanks for any info. As far as I'm aware none of the above have any sort of art box info.

On a separate note I just randomly found info for Hellsing VII, December 23 on amazon.co.jp

Nyan Koi
Bakemonogatari

It's too earlier for information about Nyan Koi (first BD comes out in Janaury, and the website hasn't posted beyond that). I'm not aware of there being a Bakemonogatari box (most of the exclusives are just telephone cards).

Man I would love for there to be a Bakemono box eventually. The Haruhi renewal one was a nice surprise, even if it only holds half the volumes. Bakemonogatari could seriously benefit from a nice box though. A nice group shot of the girls... well, here's hoping. If there is one, well I've got all the LE BDs preordered anyway so I'll get it.

Unless they are evil and make it a first press item only available from certain stores that don't include the one you used.

They've already announced the store bonuses (but only the designs for volume one), and they're things like telephone cards and wall scrolls.

Anyone know of a retailer that is still offering the Macross Frontier boxes with the individual blu-rays. The only retailer I've seen that still mentions it is Play-asia and when I contacted them, they told me that they were sold out. YHA only has the complete series up and that's like 7-800 in one nice go./wrists I would rather space it out a bit so I'm not totally broke.

Edit:Well via YJA I was able to find a reasonably priced vol.5 box for around 5000 yen. Now if anyone could help me find a vol.9 with a box via a retailer would be much appreciated.

The box was a first press bonus so you're likely out of luck. You could try your chances with Amazon.co.jp, but there's no guarantee they'd still have it for such a popular show at this stage.

That's what I figured. Off to YJA I go.

Vol 9 w/box is the rarest one, BTW. I wouldn't buy any other volumes until you find it, since you might not be able to find it for a reasonable price without buying all the volumes at once.

Well here's a curveball. I think the answer is already no but it doesn't hurt to ask as someone might have the same question I do. Is there an artbox for Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari. I checked the website via a translation tool and didn't see anything but I am prone to being wrong.

I don't think so. VAP never did one for the 3rd Tenchi OVA series, either.

Thought so. Thanks for the info anyway.
