The boxes and covers for the anime figures - do you keep them when you buy them or do you throw them away. I'm kind of curious what you folks do. I've been collecting thousands of figures over the years and my storeroom is piled high with these boxes.

I would like to (and do now) but never had the space.

Makes moving...interesting.

Personally, I put them in boxes and store them in the attic. I certainly don't have thousands of figures though (hundreds...).

I kept boxes for.. eveything. I ditched a lot of them when we moved unfortunately, other than a few nice ones or ones I put the figures back into for transport.

I own a grand total of two figures, so yes I keep the boxes. =P Not that I really need to though.

Yes. I have a problem in this area though and have been getting better recently but I have so many damn boxes around...:depressed: It's not thousands-at least for anime figs-but I have a number of boxes I should have chucked. I'm tying to keep the ones for fragile figs and chuck the rest.

I'm a packrat so I keep it all anyway, but I justify it by imagining moving some especially delicate-seeming ones. :depressed:

Strategically, for certain figures, I do keep them. Mostly ones with very long hair strands or other elements that make them fragile so I can move them safely. The majority of the boxes I threw away because I absolutely don't have the space. The number I actually keep has gotten smaller and smaller over time too.

Sure do. Most of them are too nice looking to throw away. They're all hanging out in the top of my closet.

I keep them. Unfortunately, I'm running out of room to store the boxes. But, they are nice to keep if I need to move or sell them.

I don't know how long I'll keep up this hobby, but sooner or later, I'll need a room dedicated to just the empty boxes (maybe that same room is also my showcase...haha).

A bit of a pack rat also so I keep them, but it would be very unpractical with all the figures I have so I throw away the plastic inside & collapse the boxes naturally. They take up very little room this way even with over a hundreds figures. The only problem is you can't use them for the figures anymore & the insert backgrounds can be unwieldy to store (easily get bent or torn) if they have large cutouts.

I don't have that many, but I still don't save the boxes. I save boxes for other things I bought. If I had a lot of spare storage space, I would.

I guess I'm one of the few that tosses them. I used to save the boxes, but they really just became clutter seeing how I never really looked at them. Usually I kept them because the box looked so nice, but now I toss most of them. If there is artwork on the box that I like I cut it out.

The only boxes I've kept have been Figma/Revoltech boxes, due to the small part... though the Figma bags are good, it's nice that I can put them all back in the box.
I also kept the Koto limited Taiga box, great art and design, couldn't cut it up. I had the Max Factory Taiga box around for a while... but I think I finally cut out the image and tossed the rest.
I also still have a few pinky:st packages around...

I have a few of them still, but I have way too many figures to keep all the boxes around.

For some figures I do. Mainly the figures I like better, usually the bigger ones.

I've long since ran out of space to display figures, so I generally keep any boxes that are able to be resealed. Ends up being a way to store the figures and keep them safe.

I only have about a dozen or so figures so the boxes don't take up too much room, even with my small apartment. Keeping the boxes prevents me from misplacing the small changeable parts that some figures come with or storing the base if its too big to display on my shelves.
