This thread is for anything Taiko no Tatsujin. A rather fun rhythm game. From the 1999 arcade game to current/upcoming games and the one American release Taiko Drum Master.
So I received Taiko no Tatsujin Wii sometime ago. Compared to Donkey Konga, it's not too different. It's a tad harder. You use sticks and there's only the inside and side of the drum. And I don't think the side is big enough. Also in DK you would get a gold rank if you got the noruma to 100%. This game doesn't fuck around. Here you have to have to get a perfect combo. One bad or miss and that's it. Granted you can still clear the song, but you'll have to settle for silver. And that just irritates me. Here's the songs I did:
Sengoku Sangen-Not much to say I beat it on futsuu difficulty
Kikyoku~seasons of Asia-Also cleared on futsuu difficulty. It was rather hard.
Angel Dream-I actually like this song. Also managed to clear on futsuu, the sad part is it took me a kabillion tries to get a gold, and I started to hurt my eyes. And it sucks when you don't screw up until the very end. Just gotta stay calm.
Sakuranbo-This seems to be a very popular song. As it's not the first time I heard. But of course it's a cover song
Break the Chain-Never saw Kamen Rider. But this song was awesome.
Together-Of course I know this one as it's the first Pokemon D/P OP. A nice treat.
PreCure5 Full Throttle GO GO!-It might be coincidence I first hear the Pretty Cure OP in these Namdai games before I check out the actual anime. I still haven't finished up the first, but might check this out once I do. Easy and Catchy.
Motteke Sailor Fuku-Usually the songs in these games are covers, but this sounds like the exact same OP from Lucky Star. Not that I disapprove, but if it is, wonder how they got away with it.
Yatterman no Uta-This was the main reason I got this game. Boy, was I disappointed. This is the worst cover song I have ever heard.
Mickey Mouse March-Usually I don't say stuff like this, but I played this one for the lulz.
Super Mario Bros-I'm convinced that playing along to the music is a greater challenge than actually playing through any Mario game. And it sounds like you're listening to someone playing the game as it goes from Overworld, Underworld, Starman, Underwater, Castle, and Princess Rescue complete with SFX. It's great to see 8-bit Mario, Luigi, and Bowser fidgit dance.
Do-Dai-Another song with characters from the game dancing along. Shame Yukiho isn't one of the five girls dancing on stage, but when you're score gets better and the crowd starts jumping, it's amusing to see her digging with a shovel with glasses girl holding a harisen.
Kamisama no Birthday-Another song with the cast of idolm@ster dancing along. I like this song more than the prior one.
Kamikaze Remix-Never played nor care for Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge Racer. This was a unique one.
Soul Calibar IV Immaculate Pledge-Never played this one either (just II). Sounds like standard RPG music coming from a fighting game.
I'm going to play these again on a harder difficulty. Strangely enough the harder difficulties are the most fun. On the easiest there's too little drumming. And I think the peripheral is already starting to get some rare 'n tare.
