Well it's up in the JP stores for both consoles and I've downloaded the PS3 version.

In terms of a combat system, it's rather intuitive. It plays like a sort of Valkyrie Profile 2, with the ability to do a sprint across the screen and do battle in bullet time. Found lots of fun with the battle system and it's rather easy to get a handle of (despite me not knowing how to read stuff). Each time you clear Standard mode, the difficulty goes up as well. By the 3rd playthru, I'm constantly getting my ass handed to me on the 4th section.

Looks like this has gone from a maybe to a preorder now.

I had been looking forward to this one since I first started seeing screenshots on it from Tokyo Game Show. I just finished watching Destructoid's 10-minute Taste on it (where they show the first 10 minutes of the demo), and honestly it looks pretty damn boring. The generic "industrial" setting looks boring and the attacks look boring (it's the same "jump in the air while blasting your foes" attack with every single character). I really don't know on this one, unless it was just a bad demo of a really early part of the game where you didn't have access to different abilities that expand the gameplay.

I only played about ten minutes, but I enjoyed it too. You can move around without doing the sprint, but the enemy can take potshots at you; not unlike Valkyria Chronicles. It was funny to do a jump, about to land, and do an attack; since the attack animation puts the character way back up in the air. I wonder if it's better to build up the maximum amount of bullets to fire, or just fire as much as possible until the end of the sprint.

Anyway, I'll keep the demo for awhile.

Wouldn't it be better if you just play the demo to get a taste of it?

Plus it's not all running and jumping. If anything, too much running and jumping will get you into Panic mode where you will get your ass kicked. I learnt that the hard way. Heck if you aren't careful, you will still get your ass handed to you.

Whenever Sega gets around to bringing the demo over the US PSN, sure. I don't see the point of making a Japanese PSN account just to play games I can't read, so I can wait until a localized demo makes its way over here.

Fair enough really. But I would like to point out that in the video, it's played on Newcomer Mode. This mode will defnitely give you the wrong impression on this game. I played thru that mode and found it both relatively easy, confusing and boring. If you do get yourself the English demo, play thru that mode once then switch to normal.
