What are the K-On DVDs like? Upscaled?

Lot of discussion on the BD release. But how are the K-On DVDs by comparison? How much difference playing upscaled on an Oppo DVD player for PQ?

On that note, I'm curious about one thing. Would the ratio of BD to DVD sales for K-ON be close to the usual ratio? Or is it in fact higher or lower than usual?

Also, I wonder how many might have been thinking "If I'm going to spend an insane amount on this series then I may as well go all the way and get the blu-ray".

I am expecting a R3TW release which will probably be as good as the R2Js, & definitely cheaper. But am interested in the R2 DVD quality.

It's a 4/5 to 1 ratio. I'm don't know what the average is, but generally speaking, unless the DVD is the LE version, the BDs outsell the DVDs by several factors.
