The anime for Nurarihyon no Mago was already announced but now we have a date and studio. This will be airing in July during the Summer season and will be animated by Studio DEEN. The drama cd voice actors will be coming back for the anime.

Nura Rikuo: Fukuyama Jun (very suited)
Yukionna: Horie Yui
Keikain Yura: Maeda Ai
Ienaga Kana: Aya Hirano
Nurarihyon: Ootsuka Chikao

Kurotabou: Toriumi Kousuke
Aotabou: Yasumoto Hiroki
Kubinashi: Sakurai Takahiro
Zen: Sugita Tomokazu
Gyuuki: Nakata Jyouji
Gozumaru: Yoshino Hiroyuki
Mezumaru: Hoshi Souichiro

Probably the best manga to come out of Jump (and it's genre) in the last few years. Not thrilled at DEEN animating this, hopefully they're given a budget unlike A-1 Pictures with Fairy Tail.

Quoted for truth.

I hope it gets a good adaptation since the series is so much fun.

There is very few japanese voice actors I actually recognize by name, but Horie Yui is one of them. Also, Yukionna is one of my favorite characteers in the manga too. I'm not sure how well those 2 are suited for each other though

I'll get used to it, I suppose :)

With the timing of the announcement awhile back, I was assuming this was gonna be a summer broadcast, but somewhere deep down I was probably hoping for spring. I'm a little sad I have to wait till July for this one :P

I wonder how DEEN is going to handle those scenes where the artwork gets really stylish, god I love that look in the manga. I was really hoping for Sunrise or Bones even though the later would've been an original end.

I was actually expecting this to air in Fall along with Bakuman and probably Toriko (I know this hasn't been announced yet). WSJ really had a stellar 2008 with Mago, Bakuman, Toriko and PSYREN.. so much better than their 2009 survivors in Beezlebub, Kuroko and Medaka Box.

Hrm, was Rikuo's voice actor the same one from that did Keita from Inukami I wonder? If so, then he and Hori Yui, who voiced Youka from the same, have a reunion of sorts :P

Ah, I just checked, and it was Indeed Fukayama Jun for Keita.

2 very different kind of characters from Inukami though :D

Hell yes it's Nishimura, now I really looking forward for this adaptation...

True Tears and Simoun were awesome, my only fear now is if this gets the low budget treatment like Fairy Tail.

It's going to be 24 episodes and cover up to the Tamazuki/Shikoku arc from the looks of it. Nishimura said instead of making new episodes and youkai he's going to expand on the existing stuff in the manga he felt was too short. Namely Gyuuki's arc and of course Tamazuki/Shikoku.

Nishimura:Basically, I intend to follow the original work faithfully. Only, I think it will be good to add scene that had to be cut in the manga and complement it with the anime. If you read the original work, there's a reasonable number of scene where you would think "It will be more interesting if you draw more in it", whether it the situation or concept. I think the situation where the story had to progress is caused by various matters, but I think it's such a waste.

So is this one of those really long manga, and we can expect it to keep coming back for more seasons? Or will 24 eps cover a good chunk of it?

It's only up to chapter 109 atm, the first season should cover the first 50 or so I'm guessing. I would expect a follow up season sometime in 2011/2012 but than again DEEN did Fruits Basket as well and that never got a follow up.

At least this indicates the production values should be a lot better than something like Fairy Tail, manga has some gorgeous scenes in it..

That is disappointing. I was hoping for at at least 50 episodes. I really want to see the current arc animated but I guess not. Hopefully the series gets a second season but I highly doubt it unless it becomes such a huge money maker (even if its not any good aka Ikkitousen... FOUR!! seasons of that shit? Yet I still watch it, lol. ) Hope this season is done well, so the popularity of the series goes up. Can't wait for the season the start.

Sequels (often planned before the first season begins it seems) seem like a very common thing nowadays so I wouldn't be surprised if something based on a popular ongoing manga would return for more.
