Nozomi Entertainment has done what few other companies do and actually announced a delay of a release instead of just notifying retailers. They've rescheduled the release of the ARIA The ORIGINATION DVD Collection to March 16, 2010 from its original March 2, 2010 release date

It's a nice change of pace for a company to tell us of a release delay, and give a reason as well.

It's disappointing, but really works out better for me this way
(I've got just a little schoolwork to finish these next couple of weeks :knowitall::sweat:)
Nozomi provides the best releases in R1 so I'll trust them on this.

Delays will happen and it is a great thing Nozomi was up front on this. Though this is not such a big deal for me since I am quite patient when it comes to this.

Nooo...!
*bangs fists impatiently on table*
But seriously, not a big deal. Especially since this is a quality release of an excellent show from a studio that's established a history of frequent early shipments and very few delays.
Somewhat OT: am...am I the only one who initially thought of something...unsavory...upon first seeing the thread title?
Delay is only for two weeks, so no big deal. I plenty of other March releases coming in that I can watch. I'm looking forward to the release when it comes out though.

I didn't think about it until your post here. I guess it can interpreted that way if you really wanted to.

Well, despite being something that can be broadly applied, I try to keep Aria and such things mutually exclusive in my mind. It's too innocent! Dirty thoughts are bad! But...but...

Aria isn't about a slavish devotion to a precise and merciless clock. Aria is about allowing yourself to sit back and take the time to see the beauty of the world around you. In that sense, an on-time release would have been unfaithful to the nature of the show! How can you wish for a relase that's unfaithful to the nature of the show, Hayate Kurogane? Why do you hate Aria, Hayate Kurogane?! =P

I...I just... *eyes water* I just don't know, Wanko! My profound love for Aria must have blinded me to its true beauty! *sniffle* I've forgotten what it really means to love Aria! Where did I go wrong?! I don't hate Aria, I hate myself! *runs away crying*
...
Hmmm...I suppose we'd need to swap usernames for this one, really.

Stop thinking that way before I ask Alice to smack you with her paddle.

...How is that supposed to stop him from thinking that way and not just encourage him? :P

That and the delay seems to be a case of "Just a minor setback, just wait a bit longer" as opposed to "Oh, that earlier date? We were just kidding. Here's a new random err I mean certain date" that some companies have.

You're probably not the only one, but whatever you're thinking, I can say with confidence that it didn't cross my mind. Then again, there are times I wonder if everything can be twisted into something unsavory.
