That was easiler than I thought. Saki is awesome and she'll hit me if I don't vote for her - and Aeka is hot and hot and other things like that. Yeah, I sort of like her.

As for Azuma - she's the adorably clumsy final member of the main Bamboo Blade cast. Somewhat dimwitted and easy to get to do what you want, she is on the end of some awesome manipulation throughout.

Plus she's cute.

I don't dislike Dead Master but a 90 second promo vid and some fanart isn't enough to have a reaction either way. Also, suppose it had to happen eventually but this is the first round where I don't feel like I'm drowning in great characters. Some of the above I only like somewhat, or only barely know.

Tenma and Mizuho were no brainers. Man, Mizuho is going to completely and utterly dominate the voting this round (unless Misato pulls a bit more weight than I anticipate), to the point where I'd almost rather vote for someone else... but eh.

After that, uh.... well it was really between Mai and Kuchinashi. If including Otome, I really like Mai. But in HiME, it's less clear cut. The only character who makes it out of HiME with 100% support from me is Natsuki. Everyone else was questionable in some way though generally that was the point so I don't dislike them for it. Well, except Tate. Fuck Tate.

I decided to just go with Kuchinashi though to support the notepad communication moe movement. Obscure characters from obscure unlicensed series need love more than Mai does.

It may seem shallow, but sometimes a series falling out of favor with me makes it hard for me to keep caring about the characters that I would have cared about otherwise.

Momoha is like the hot one of the five in the series. Also, I like her in general. The story behind Cure Passion and her character in general makes her an easy vote.

The third vote is kind of hard. At first I was thinking Aeka, but it's been awhile since I experienced her and I might be confused by nostalgia. In general, it's hard to find an automatic among the remainder.

There's like practically no one I feel justified in voting for in this round. I've only seen parts of two shows (My-Hime and Bamboo Blade), and I haven't even seen the character from Bamboo Blade in this round. I immediately feel in love with Mai Tohika I when watched some of My-Hime, but I haven't seen enough of the show to justify voting for her.

While there were some other characters I was familiar with and moderately liked to some degree (Mai Tokiha, Shinobu Maehara), I just didn't like them to the degree that I felt much compulsion to vote for them. It doesn't help that its been a while since I last read Love Hina and while its been less time since I saw My-HiME, I also have issues with the series as a whole and affect my feelings towards the characters, and handicap them here.

Third was more difficult, between Chloe and Yuki Azuma. Though it may not be quite within the spirit of the contest, ultimately the fanfic "Shopping Mission" pushed Chloe ahead, as that's been one of my favorite stories for years.

Cure Passion, while hitting any number of my moe points, I just haven't seen enough of her to really justify voting for her, and while I like Kuchinashi quite a bit, she was just too minor a character.

Mai and Yuki are two long time favorites, and Dead Master is, of course, my pick.

Once again? This is Westlo's first outright win in this year's draft. He scored a split decision with Proximity in Round 8.

Anyway the scorecard has been updated (http://www.mania.com/aodvb/blog.php?b=2770). Westlo's win closed the gap a bit, but Buster Blader 126 is starting to pull away from Proximity. EB still has an outside shot of winning the title, but he really needs to win the 12th round and hope that the other three characters tank.

I dunno, to me Mizuho's results were about what I expected. When I drafted her last year, her placement was roughly in the same vicinity as this round.

My fuzzy memory is telling me that she didn't to so well the year prior, though. As for earlier Anime Drafts, I wouldn't know about those since I merely spectated the draft that happened three years ago and was not on the forums yet for the earlier ones.

Was she a dominant force in the past? I'm curious.

It seems like I'm cursed that the characters I draft with the word 'Aria' in it do badly, whereas almost everywhere else, they do well. There there Aria, don't cry...:) That was my prediction as she'd be my worst performer of the draft, but not last so still better than expected...
