FUNimation hosted their third online panel tonight which covered a lot of questions and more from the senior events manager, Adam Sheehan, as well as the social media manager, Justin Rojas. On average, the panel had about 300 people viewing the broadcast...

2.Adam commented about the "package deal" concept which has been around for awhile where if you license a particular show, another show may be included as a "friend" show in the deal. This is from years gone by but recent changes in licensing deals has seen this practice largely fall to the side. Many have thought that the announcement of Baka and Test and Vampire Bund being at the same time meant that Baka and Test may have been part of a package deal. Adam pretty clearly stated that they don't deal in this practice anymore.
In all honesty, I'm a little saddened by that admittance... Well, first, there is no way that Adam can say that they picked up Dragonaut because they wanted to, especially with how Gonzo was notorious for packaging shows together. FUNi must have recently decided not to do package deals.
But anyway, I have to say that I liked the package deal concept, mainly because the shows I would love to see licensed are more than likely not going to be shows that a company like FUNimation would want to purposefully go for. The shows I would love to see licensed are more like the kinds of shows that would be packaged together with other shows... Not to say that the shows I would love to see licensed are bad, but they're more likely to be ignored for other shows instead.
One more thing to add: My Bride is a Mermaid, Part 1 is scheduled for a 7/20/10 release date.
