Not sure where to put this topic but figured everyone here would want to know...

Via ANN:

I am pretty sure alot of us knew this for a while since FMA brotherhood was confirmed from the the start to have 63 episodes.

I don't think we knew from the start that it was 63; it was rumored and then disproved by an Aniplex staffer, but yes now it's definite that the finale is episode 63.

And the manga ends in the June issue of Monthly Shōnen Gangan so hopefully Hiromu Arakawa worked with the anime writers to end this thing right. It would be so pointless to end it with an anime original when we've come this far.

Also the final Blu-ray is Volume 16 in Japan coming November 2010 so we'll probably get 5, 13 episode sets from Funi finishing up next year.

Yes, it's sad to see it go, but it's been a great journey and I looked forward to watching it all again dubbed on Blu-ray.

Funi "confirmed" it but then later they (or someone else) said that was wrong. But with the way things have been going in the anime and repeatedly hearing that the manga looked like it only had a few chapters left, it was looking like Funi's claim that it was 63 episodes was correct anyway. We certainly didn't know it from the start though.

Has this been confirmed? I mean, not that I don't believe you, in fact I assumed the manga only had two more chapters to go after the latest one, but I'd just like to know if this is definite or just speculation.

Yeah I'm 90% sure it's been confirmed I haven't seen a scan but I think theres one floating out there. Plus if the manga and the anime are to have the same ending I'd doubt they'd let the anime come out first.

I unfortunately can't investigate further cause I'm only watching the anime so you know to avoid spoilers, but check the AnimeSuki boards.
