So anime companies which are hurting need to buy 10% stake in a league that is hurting...

Brilliant!

Konata would be opposed since hockey games on TV may go into overtime, thus extending the game and messing up her anime recording schedule.

This really does not sound like a good deal for the animation studios by any stretch of the imagination.

I suggest that Chris look a bit more closely into the original source of that article...

It looks like a hoax to me that google news somehow picked up.

Ah...I was hoping we'd finally get a kickass hockey sports anime (WHERE IS IT??????).

This is a joke, right? I mean owning 10% of the league would be over half a billion dollars. I'm somehow doubting Madhouse has that sort of money sitting around so that they can get Strawberry Panic put on the jumbotron.

Ah yeah. After reading the original article, it's clearly a parody.

I've amended the article; the 10% thing flew over me and should have been a red flag. The site itself is legit which is why it got picked up since it's owned by CBS Sports. It looks like a new columnist, perhaps even a fan columnist, as it turns out this was their first article and posted just yesterday, which is why Google grabbed it. It was originally on their front NHL page when I first saw it but is no longer there.

Yeah, the first thing I did when I saw it was click on the author, and when I saw "1 news post" my red flags went up.

Actually as a humor piece it's pretty well written :).
