So this morning, I got my usual notification through Live Messenger that I got a new e-mail. The notification said that it was an e-mail from "Feedback Manager". Before I clicked on it, I was thinking that it might be from Amazon.com, telling me that I had finally received some feedback from my last two buyers. However, it wasn't from Amazon.com. It was actually from FUNimation.
Congrats on winning the DVD giveway. Please respond with your shipping address and choice of FUNimation box set, subject to availability. If it is not available at the moment, I will let you know.
Apparently, I had won their DVD giveaway that they were running along with their own version of March Madness ("Sangatsu no Madness
" for FUNi). They chose a bunch of their high-ranking shows and organized them into a bracket similar to the one used in the real NCAA March Madness tournament. All the results were based off the real games. Fullmetal Alchemist (North Carolina) and D. Gray Man (Michigan State) were the final two. I may not have been watching the games, but I did watch the FUNi blog for some fun reading. And in the end, North Carolina won, meaning Fullmetal Alchemist won, meaning I was a potential winner.
I was pretty excited. So I went to check out their blog to see the announcement. At first, I just skimmed the blog entry
and noticed that there were other names. But I also noticed that the entry's name used the word "Winner" as in singular. I thought that I had won with several other people. Then I noticed a little spoiler thing and clicked on it. And there was my username, "Asrialys", all alone. Then I remembered that only one winner would be chosen. So that means that out of all those people, my username was chosen randomly, making me the winner. Awesome!
Took me a while to decide. FUNimation has a lot of titles in box sets. Many are separated into parts because the series was longer than 13 episodes. I decided to just ignore those and look for something complete. Although, I still don't have the second set to complete my Ouran High School Host Club
series. And if it was any later in the year, like around June or July, then this decision would have been much harder. There are lots of new stuff coming out then, including the Part 1 set of Romeo x Juliet
It came down to the 2007 release of Fruits Basket
and Soukou no Strain
. I asked for the Fruits Basket
set first, but they didn't have anything from that long ago. Mostly recent stuff. I still don't like the Viridian Collection sets for whatever reason, so I declined that offer and asked for Soukou no Strain
. Will be shipped tomorrow. Haha, one less series I need to pay for.
Heh, I remember back in the good old days of Kids WB when they would always have their sweepstakes. I always entered and sometimes won. Probably because of the low age limit, there might have been few entrants. Things I remember winning include movie tickets, a Pokemon toy, Mewtwo Returns VHS, and the 512 MB iPod Shuffle, my first and only iPod (Go Zune!).
That makes up the extent of my "winnings". However, whenever it comes to money, it just doesn't work out the same. Well, I guess there are much more people entering those kinds of things, and I'm not as persistent in doing that stuff anyway...
So anyway, good for North Carolina for winning and it was thanks to them, that I was able to get drawn to win FUNimation's contest. And now I can finally watch the rest of the dub of Soukou no Strain
