I'm a very thoughtful person. Well, I think a lot at least. This means that my mind is often preoccupied by many, many thoughts during the course of the day. It gets very distracting, to say the least. Hopefully, this will help as some sort of outlet. Maybe.

It all began a few years ago. I happened upon the anime series "Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase" On-Demand. They only showed the first 2 episodes as a preview, but within those 40+ minutes or so I had absolutely fallen in love with Hazuki. She was so adorable and bratty, I think I experienced Moe before I even knew what it was. Every smile and pout she made melted by heart. Unfortunately, I never really got into the series. I saw a few random episodes here and there on TV, but that was it.

I happened across the gorgeous Hazuki PVC figure by Alter about a month or so back, but couldn't afford it at the time, so I saved it for later viewing. I then promptly forgot about it.

Yesterday, however, when deciding how to spend a little of my summer money, I looked through my saved items and found it again. All those warm and fuzzy feelings I got whenever I saw Hazuki returned instantly. The figure perfectly captures her impossible cuteness. I thought about buying it, but it didn't make sense when I technically hadn't really seen the series. I checked out RightStuf, and what do you know: the beautifully well done Moon Phase boxset from FUNimation was in the Bargain Bin. I picked that up, thus justifying my purchase of the figure.

I also snatched up the Ultimate Edition of "WXIII: Patlabor the Movie 3", along with the Robert Redford movie "Sneakers" and some new headphones to replace the shitty ones I got with my new Mp3 player, all of which I planned to get anyway.

One cannot disobey the will of Mistress Luna.

It was the opening theme song that hooked me.
I'd normally give anything involving vampires a wide berth, (save for the old Universal anf Hammer flicks, that is) but I was drawn in by the catchy music and surreal visuals. (Hazuki herself played a large part in the appeal too) It didn't seem like a typical vampire show at all, so I gave it a shot. Saw one ep via the evil format, and ordered the box set soon after.
In the long wait for the set to arrive, I sought out the manga as well. I remember wandering around town to the various comic places and grabbing whatever volumes of the book I could find. Came away with seven books and ended up finishing them over one weekend too.
So yeah, the power of Hazuki is indeed mighty, and there naught that can stand against it. (and who would even want to?)
