Today's Picks
College football and a key fixture in the English Premier League highlights the 17 matchups in today's installment of ESPN Streak for the Cash. The day begins with Round 3 of the PGA BMW Open in Illinois with a lower front 9 score match between Tim Clark (tie) and Hunter Mahan.
The college football matchups in the early afternoon block are Duke at Army, North Carolina at Connecticut, Stanford at Wake Forest, and a larger margin of victory prop with Virginia Tech (vs. Marshall) up against Boston College (vs. Kent State). The marquee fixture in the EPL has the defending champions Manchester United traveling to London to take on undefeated Tottenham Hotspur. The draw option is on the Spurs in this key fixture. More golf in Illinois with the over/under on Tiger Woods' third-round score set at 67, the score he shot in yesterday's round.
Late afternoon matchups feature Notre Dame at Michigan and the Atlanta Braves at the St. Louis Cardinals.
In the early evening block, the Minnesota Golden Golphers open their new stadium against Air Force, a larger margin of victory prop with LSU (vs. Vanderbilt) against Auburn (vs. Mississippi State), a better finish prop between Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth in the NASCAR race in Richmond, and the Detroit Shock at the Chicago Sky in WNBA hoops. Oh, and their a big game down in Columbus as the Ohio State Buckeyes host the USC Trojans in the marquee college football matchup of the day. The Trojans are making their first visit to Columbus since 1990.
In the late evening block, the LA Dodgers are at the San Francisco Giants, the Colorado Rockies are at San Diego, and another largest margin of victory prop featuring Oregon (vs. Purdue) against Utah (at San Jose State).
My planned picks for today are as follows:
Golf - Tim Clark win/tie
Soccer - Tottenham Hotspur win/draw
NCF - Notre Dame win
NCF - Minnesota win
NCF - Utah
Alternate picks: Wake Forest, St. Louis Cardinals, USC Trojans
Yesterday's Results
Weather, time, and computer issues forced me to only make 3 picks yesterday, and I went 1-2 on those picks. My picks for yesterday were as follows:
MLB - Rich Harden gets the win
Golf - Tiger birdies the par-5 15th hole
MLB - Kansas City Royals win
The Cubs defeated the Cincinnati Reds 6-4, but Harden only went 4 innings and didn't qualify for the win. Tiger scored a par 5 on the 15th hole, and the Kansas City Royals defeated the Cleveland Indians 2-1 in 12 innings. With the results, my September record now stands at 27-17 and my overall record is now 251-237-16.
