ESPN Streak for the Cash Diary - September 13
Posted 09-13-2009 at 07:44 AM by bci110
Week 1 of the NFL dominates the 17 matchups in today's installment of ESPN Streak for the Cash. The day though starts in the Italian Serie A as AS Roma travels to Siena (draw). Golf has Stewart Cink (tie) against Kenny Perry in a lower front ( score. In the U.S. Open, Rafael Nadal square off against Juan Martin del Porto in the men's semifinals.
The early afternoon block is loaded with NFL action from Week 1: Broncos at Bengals, Dolphins at Falcons, Eagles at Panthers, Vikings at Browns, Jets at Texans, a more yards prop with Maurice Jones-Drew and Torry Holt (Jaguars) vs. Reggie Wayne and Joseph Addai (Colts), Kansas City Chiefs points score vs. Baltimore Ravens winning margin, and Calvin Johnson (Detroit) vs. Marques Colston (New Orleans) in a more receiving yards prop.
In the late afternoon block, the Dodgers finish their series with the San Francisco Giants, Clinton Portis (Washington) vs. Brandon Jacobs (NY Giants) in a more total yards prop, Steven Jackson (St. Louis) vs. Julius Jones (Seattle) in a more rushing yards prop, and San Francisco 49ers total touchdowns vs. Arizona Cardinals passing touchdowns. The lone evening matchup has the Green Bay Packers hosting their lone-time rivals Chicago Bears in Sunday Night Football.
My planned picks for today are as follows:
Soccer - AS Roma win
NFL - Miami Dolphins win
MLB - LA Dodgers win
NFL - Green Bay Packers win
It seems that every month when I play this game I always hit a wall in the middle of the month where I struggle to get wins. Looks like that's happening again in September. I made 4 picks yesterday and lost them all - Hunter Mahan held off Tim Clark 34-35 in their lower front 9 match, Manchester United defeated Totterham Hotspur 3-1, Michigan came back to defeat Notre Dame 38-34, and the Detroit Shock recorded a 80-69 road win in Chicago, aided by a big 33-point third quarter. The losses dropped my September record to 27-21 and my overall record now stands at 251-241-16.
