Today, I turned 29 years old. To celebrate my birthday, I decided to spend the day at Arundel Mills with my family.
The trip started with what I usually do first whenever I go to Arundel Mills: stopping at Dave & Buster's. As usual, my main focus while I was there was to play the "ticket" games in hopes of getting tickets to get some video games for either the Xbox 360 and the PS3 (the amount of tickets that are needed to get them have gone up, but the variety is much better than when I was last there). However, I also decided to try out Guitar Hero Arcade and a Rambo arcade game while I was there (I also had to show the Rambo arcade game to my older brother, since he and my older brother used to refer to one nun at the church that I go to as "Sister Rambo" when we were kids).
After Dave & Buster's, I looked around the various shops at Arundel Mills. Due to Anime USA next weekend, I didn't buy much. However, since I got a $50 Best Buy gift card from my other older brother as a gift from him, I used it to pick up an Xbox 360 Messenger Kit (in preparation for the update that will take place on Tuesday) and the Lucky Star OAV.
Once I was done looking at the mall, my family and I then went out to dinner at Golden Corral. For dinner, I decided to get some Surf 'n' Turf (aka steak and popcorn shrimp) with some mashed potatoes and stuffing. As for dessert, I had my usual Golden Corral dessert of two brownies covered with ice cream. After dinner, my older brother and his wife left for home, but not before my parents gave them some stuff they found at the thrift store today and my older brother gave me his gifts: a musical Woodstock plushie and a $25 Best Buy gift card.
Finishing off this day was a trip to the local Safeway to get a birthday cake. Then, after I took a shower, my family had some cake. This was then followed by me opening my gifts (which consisted of some video games and DVD's). Finally, my grandmother gave me $40 as her birthday gift to me (something that will definitely be useful next weekend, when I go to Anime USA).
Another year, another chance to have fun on my birthday (with the fun not being over just yet, since I still need to pick up one more gift tomorrow).
