The self-portrayed “$10 Billion Beauty”, Tazusa Sakurano is a Japanese figure skater and Olympic hopeful. She is known for her sharp tongue and cold demeanor, especially towards the media to which she’s on bad terms with. Because of this she developed a string of bad luck during competitions. Her goal is to compete at the Olympics in Torino, Italy.

During a competition in Montreal, Tazusa falls in the middle of a Triple Lutz attempt and loses consciousness. Meanwhile a Canadian stunt pilot named Pete Pumps loses control of his plane and crashes to his death. He then ends up possessing Tazusa, to which he has to wait for 100 days before he ascends into Heaven.

At first Tazusa didn’t like the idea of being possessed by Pete. She picked up the habit of eating tomatoes because Pete hated them, and used masochism to keep him in line. Within time she grew to accept him and on occasion used him to her advantage, such as for exams in school. She also starts to express herself more in her skating routines which enable her to represent Japan in the Olympics. She even learned how to handle the media through Pete.

Tazusa has a nasty habit of falling asleep when she gets bored, but doesn’t seem to sleep well the night before competition. At the end of the series she expressed her love for Pete, but wasn’t able to say it directly to him before he ascended into Heaven.
