Awesome! I loved the first series even though it was a low budget production. I thought it was fun & silly. Hopefully the sequel won't take itself too seriously.

Otome wa Boku ni Koi Shiteru 2 Romance Game Gets Anime

On Monday, the official blog for Softbank Creative's GA Bunko light novel imprint posted the wraparound jacket band that reveals that an anime adaptation has been green-lit for CaramelBox's romantic comedy adventure game Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru 2 ~Futari no Elder~ .

The game is the sequel to the Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru game that already inspired the Otoboku - maidens are falling for me! television anime series. The story is set in the same Seio Girl's School as the first game and its spinoffs. A beautiful, silver-haired student named Chihaya Kisakinomiya is transfering into the all-female student body at Seio. The catch is that Chihaya is a boy.

This works because Japan really does have the prettiest boys. I was in Akihabara this past spring and was handed some flyers for a maid cafe by some very pretty girls. I didn't realize until I looked at the flyer and noticed the symbol for "male" next to their pictures that they were boys.

An all-boy maid cafe. Even though I don't swing that way, I want to say "Thank you, Japan, for making the world just a little bit more awesome."

The main thing I have to wonder is if this game is in the same universe as the game that the TV series was based on or if it's an alternate reality.

That, and how long before they reverse it. A young girl ends up being the only person in a supposedly "All Girl's School" that's actually a girl.

I'm not even a fan of traps, but I want Suwako's show!

I liked the first Otoboku, but at times I pretty much completely forgot he was a guy....
