Thanks for this. This will be useful going into the second half of the show.

A couple of updates, due to events in episode 14.
I may be adding extra info to the chart soon. |

Question: are all of the entries first name, last name?
I assume they are, but one thing about the show that is confusing the hell out of me is that they constantly use titles (Captain, Major, etc.) with first names, which goes against English practice certainly. Thus, constantly I see and hear "Major Gilliam, Captain Daitetsu," when I want to hear last names. Or is it that these are last names? Or is this some Japanese cultural practice (using titles with first names) that I've completely missed all these years, since I generally used to watch most shows dubbed? |

All names are "first name last name". And yes, they like to use "Rank First name" which is...weird, but its something of a tradition in mecha anime.
And just like in Gundam, everyone uses Western order, even the officially Japanese characters like Ryuusei. Most people know the characeters by their first names, so I'd reccomend in future reviews referring to "Kyousuke" instead of "Nanbu" and "Captain Daitetsu" instead of "Captain Minase" The only exception is Alfimi. "Einst" is more of a...uhh...categorization there, its not her first name, she only has one name, "Alfimi" |

Okay, good to know going forwards. It was starting to annoy me quite a bit, which is why I took to calling Gilliam just Gilliam (I can't bring myself to say Major Gilliam, it just sounds wrong
). I think it will be fine to say Daitetsu without rank as well. |

You can largely drop the ranks, no one in the fanbase really uses them to refer to the characters, so its not like it'll annoy or confuse anyone.
