Purchase of the year and maybe even next year

So, I was at Anime Boston this past weekend. The dealer's rooms at cons are pretty nice to scope out and buy stuff I normally can't buy via the typical shops that export from Japan.

Now, this is crazy. One dealer actually had it hanging up and I bought it immediately without question. It was the Toranoana K-On! Mio Akiyama tapestry that one got as a bonus item from the store if you pre-ordered all of season 1.

I would take a picture, but I don't have space to hang it up to take a picture of it. Instead I will link to an article on Akibablog that has a picture of it.

Now, I would have to say that tapestry/wall-scroll will be my best purchase this whole year and possibly next until I can find the Azusa Nakano tapestry Toranoana gave when you pre-ordered all of season 2.

Too bad I currently have no place to hang it up as I've been too lazy to drive my nails into walls to hang my vast collection of wall-scrolls.

It was not Hen Da Ne, actually. It was a place called Asylum Anime - don't recall them too much at cons, but they have an eclectic collection of old and new stuff they sell.

I was going to pick up a Horo bedsheet I haven't seen, but totally forgot about it.

Oh yeah, Asylum Anime definitely has quite a number of interesting items when they show up at the cons that I go to. Among some of the hard to find items that I've picked up from their booth include a plushie of Konoka in her "botched" card form from the Negima manga and and a Cardcaptor Sakura pillow case that was originally included as part of the limited edition version of the Cardcaptor Sakura Dreamcast game.

Ah. Asylum Anime. I agree they are one of the view vendors with interesting items. So how much did it set you back?

It cost me $299.

The guy told me that it was quite expensive from the store he bought it from. A lot of their items were reasonably priced (I also bought a prize item of a Railgun bedsheet for $30 from the, too)...so I would not be surprised if it cost the store a pretty penny.

The one thing that would top this purchase, contrary to my blog, would be buying an official C78 Kousaka Kirino dakimakura for around the same price.

Lucky, you! I've been looking at YAJ once a month looking for the dakimakura. After exchange rate, shipping and proxy fees...I'm like ugh and I pass. ::sigh::

Which doujin one did you get?
