I've been meaning to start a blog for a while, but being the way I am, I kept procrastinating it, not to mention the fact that I've never kept one of these going very long (some of you may remember I had a blogspot blog some years ago, that ended up not working out too well, but here's to trying again! I decide that for my first entry I'd discuss something that came up in some comments on other peoples blog entries, that being "Iono".
Since the switchover to VBulletin, I've been using an avatar of Iono Mito Arushurain, from the manga Iono the Fantaics
by Fujieda Miyabi, which is unfortunately not as well known as it should be. In this entry I'll try to give a bit more information about Iono and her manga, and why she's one of my favorite characters ever.
Name: Iono Mito Arushurain
Age: Unstated (believed to be in her early 20s)
Interests: Girls, Girls with long black hair, Anything in a skirt
Nickname: "The Horny Queen"
Iono is the queen of a small European country (it is never named, just noted that it is rather small. Even it being European is more of an implication than anything else, she refers to it generally as "a country to the west"), she became Queen after the death of her mother, the previous queen.
Iono's main passion in life is her "sobame", a word that can mean several things, from "Lady in waiting" to "concubine". For Iono, it means all of that and more. Her sobame are the very center of her life, she loves each and every one of them (and she has a lot), and she always wants to bring in more sobame. Which brings all sorts of headaches for her administrative staff.
Iono is unusual for women in her country in that she has long, black hair. Her mother was of Japanese descent, and Iono has always loved girls with hair like hers, but there aren't very many in her country. So she packs her staff up and sets off on an open ended journey to Japan to find more sobame, preferably ones with long black hair.
The manga Iono the Fanatics
is short at only 12 chapters + an extra chapter, gathered into two volumes, and has been licensed by Infinity Studios. Unfortunately they have so far only released the first volume in print format, the the second is (I believe) available as an e-book. Hopefully they will release the second volume soon.
The mangaka, Fujieda Miyabi
, has only recently begun to publish professionally, but has done a number of doujin releases over the years, some of her work can also be seen on Danbooru
And so concludes my first blog entry. I know I can't compare to others here, but for me this was an awful lot of typing. Hopefully I'll be back in the not to distant future with an entry explaining just why this blog is named what it is.
