The Questions Meme

Posted 06-26-2008 at 08:36 AM by Chris Beveridge
Break out of the anime/manga mold!

Here are the rules:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions of a very personal nature.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them 5 questions.

Questions here are what I used on livejournal recently...

1) What is the best thing you see your girls doing in the ideal future and why do you see that or wish that for them?

The best thing for them in my eyes is just to be happy. It's a fairly consistent theme in what I talk about with them and ways they can achieve it. Right now it's just talking to them in very broad things, but laying the foundation for helping them to find what makes them happy. Amethyst's new interest in drama for example is something where I'll do whatever I can to foster it and help her get there. But it's the underlying things of reinforcing with her to pursue the things that make her happy and live for that. We tend to look at our own desires through our kids and for me, it's wanting them to have that happiness innate in them that will allow them to find their ideal future.

2) If you could remake yourself, what kind of man would you be?

If you had asked me this a couple of years ago, the response would have been vastly different. As it stands now, beyond the continuing weightloss and related to them, I am the man I want to be. I've become the man that I wanted to be years ago and am now almost completely comfortable in that skin. There's just a bit too much of said skin at the moment though. Time, effort and willpower will take care of that.

3) What talent do you wish you possessed and why; what talent are you thankful for everyday and why?

I wish I could draw. I wish I could bring to life visually the things in my mind so that I could share it with others and bring it out there for all to see. Which is of course why I'm glad for my talent in writing, weak as it is, since it allows it out there in some form. (parenting isn't a talent, is it? :D)

4) What is your favorite physical accessory on a woman or man?

Hm, that's tough. I don't know that I actually have a favorite physical accessory. For myself, I don't really wear anything, not even my ring because it agitates my finger unfortunately and I've never been able to type properly while wearing it. With women, it's pretty much the same sort of thing. While I really like adorning them in various pretties, there isn't anything that really draws me in. If I have to say anything, it'd be scrunchies just because I love how tying up hair in different ways can completely reframe a face and bring about a very different view.

5) Why do you shy away from rock music and modern male singers of various stripes?

I don't shy from rock music, but there really hasn't been much that captures my attention. I sort of overdosed on that back in the 80's and into the early 90's when I worked with several "classic" rockers who put me through my paces with Zeppelin, Rush, The Who and everything else from the late 60's through the seventies. I like rock music, but my taste in it does tend to lean more towards the "classics" than anything else. My tastes in male singers have shifted over the years to darker and more thematic singers, and there isn't anyone that I've found that puts out material that I adore in that area, like Leonard Cohen or the Sisters of Mercy. I also tend to prefer "story" albums because of my introduction to a group like Rush so that sort of screwed me ove. On the plus side, I do listen to a lot of 20on20 on XM which means I get exposed to a lot of modern male singers and there are plenty that I like. But nothing that I would actually put money down for.

Oh, what the hell. Interview me. I need something else to post here and on my poor neglected LJ anyway.

So... did anybody ever get interviewed? This is like that contest for that figure that nobody ever won. I'm still naked for that, by the way.

Hielostar did and posted answers here. Nobody replied to her post and so the chain was broken.

I thought it was supposed to be a tree, not a chain. Oh well.

You're not getting any pics now. I've got major shrinkage. It's embarrassing.
