My First Blog on AoD a Casualty of The Forum Rules

Posted 04-09-2008 at 09:45 AM by mk2000
Well, my first blog on AoD was deleted because apparently the forum rules apply to the blogs as well.

I respect that this is someone else's site and they should be able to run it as they see fit.

My last statement on this will be that if we pretend that l*ws don't affect our beloved art and community, then we run the risk of losing it.

Well, I guess I can always talk about Malaysian food and the best kind of rum...

I read it before it was deleted. It's a fine line between talking about law and talking about politics. Possibly some don't see a distinction between the two.

To partially approach the topic you were attempting to speak about, and without breaking forum rules (I hope), I sometimes hold the reverse view with regards to violence. There have been many times, especially recently, where I wondered whether the world would be a better, more peaceful place, if we got rid of all imagery of violence, even animated and drawn.

Yes, that would mean getting rid of shows like Code Geass, Death Note, Banner of the Stars, Rurouni Kenshin OAV, and even Magic User's Club and El Hazard. Arguments can be made that many anime and manga promote and/or glorify murder, terrorism or violence, which is illegal in some countries.

I'll leave it at that, before I stray over forum rules...

I haven't had a chance to try Malaysian food yet. There used to be a really good Indonesian place in my neighborhood, but sadly, it closed down recently. I should try to find a Malay place though.
