I'd almost forgotten. Been a while since my last post.

It's 01:26am, and I'm watching Dororo - a live action release from MVM about a man who must kill the 46 demons that stole various parts of his body, before dealing with his father who made the pact with those demons that started a whole heap of trouble in the first place. Prince of Tennis: A Cure for Insomnia?

So I've been reading Prince of Tennis lately - been reviewing it over at my own site - and with two volumes down I'm not impressed. Everything that happens in the books, you could sum up in a few lines:

1. Cocky bastard(s) appears
2. Cocky bastard gets roped into playing against Ryoma
3. Ryoma beats him easily (maybe deigning to play with his better left arm if they're any sort of challenge)
4. Cocky bastard...

Kicking the Cat

So my Voltron review is finally done and in Chris' hands - it should be up on the site probably next week sometime. Writing it up carried all the guilt of kicking the cat - I wanted to love the release so much but couldn't, and the final score was a compromise between me and my inner kid (who does get to put his tuppence worth into the review).

That said... I took a break from watching it after the first two discs. I'd just overloaded on the show, and Everybody's Golf had gotten in the way...

Distractions

I posted a while back about my lack of new anime, which was 'encouraging' me to rewatch some of my older shows to fill my free time. I've now discovered another solution to the problem.

A while back, Fudce posted about Everybody's Golf: World Tour for PS3 (that's Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds, for folks in the US). It looked good, so I went out and bought a copy about 2 weeks ago.

What a time-sink that...

I'm watching Voltron this weekend - I jumped on the chance to review the UK release, on the back of some very nostalgic memories of it from, oh, 20 years ago.

Initial impression: nostalgic impressions are best left alone, lest you totally ruin them. Although the idea of doing a twin-track review, with my inner child going head-to-head with maehara, aged 35, has a lot of appeal...
