I've hit a low point in my struggle to find a way to transport and temporarily store my DVD collection. Those DVD sleeves that shipped with my DJ case turned out to be not nearly as supple as I initially believed.

Just to be safe, I took a couple of test discs (stuff I wouldn't miss if it were damaged, like .hack//Legend of the Twilight) and took them in and out of one of the sleeves. The discs incurred linear scratches, some pronounced, others subtle. Rotating the disc while in...

This morning, my friendly neighborhood Fed-Ex man delivered unto me a rare delight: a certain long-awaited 1000-disc-capacity DJ case.

With this, I should (knock, knock) be able to safely transport my DVD collection cross-country while consuming a minimal amount of space. Whether the case actually holds up to such duty is, of course, another matter.

All things considered, it's quite compact....

I used to think that moving was a simple process. You place your stuff in boxes, place the boxes in your car, and set off on your merry way.

Perhaps it really is that simple -- but only if you don't have very much stuff.

As a veteran otaku now cresting my fifteenth year of anime fandom, I do not lack for stuff. It spills out from my room's every crevice. Artbooks, wall-scrolls, posters, plushies, figurines, doujinshi, manga, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, Laserdiscs, Blu-Ray...

No, not really.

This is a rather intriguing feature of the new boards. Good for experimenting, seems to me.

I think I'll use this blog space to try out a column idea that crossed my mind a few years ago. Now, I've a bit more education under my belt, and feel better able to do justice to the topic.
