For those that haven't noticed my avatar for today, not only is today Memorial Day for us residents of the USA, but today is the birthday of one of my favorite characters in Shugo Chara - the cute but immature Ace Chair of the Guardians Yuiki Yaya!

Depite being somewhat of a downer day yesterday with the Cavs losing Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Finals series with the Orlando Magic, I did receive some good news - my favorite artist yoshitoshi aBe is working on a new anime project, his first work since Texhnolyze a few years back. The title of the project is called Desperant, and while full details of the series have not yet been revealed by aBe, what has been confirmed is that the setting of the series will be in Japan's Taishō era...

FINALLY!!! The Bee Train Girls-with-Guns Trilogy Can Be Completed!

Although I didn't have it on my R1 Wishlist, I can't help but be estatic that the Bee Train series El Cazador has finally received its long-awaited R1 license thanks to FUNimation. So now all three of the Bee Train "girls-with-guns" series - Noir, Madlax, and now El Cazador - are/will be available in Region 1.

Though the season sets that El Cazador will be released in will look very strange on my shelves. I bought Noir in singles form during one of the ADV Abundance Sales...

The Circuit: Upcoming VA/Director Con Appearances - 2/16 to 3/1/2009

We had this running on the English Track forum for a while before it was suspended a couple of years ago. I decided to bring it back for now, albeit slowly and only within the confines of my blog. My initial plan is to post the upcoming VA guest appearances in two-week blocks, with the intent to expand it to a monthly listing. If it becomes popular enough, I'll migrate it back on the English Track sub-forum.

Shugo Chara - The Musical?!?!

I saw this on the Anime Vice website a couple of days ago and I though it was pretty cool, albeit a little bit bizarre. It appears that there will be a stage musical version of Shugo Chara! sometime in the future, and they are already auditioning actors for the production. From my understanding it was in the rumor mill for a few weeks now, but it does appear that the Shugo Chara musical is a go.

It'll be interesting how this will play out down the road, but if there was ever a reason...
