There's a serious lack of recent J.C. Staff shows

Posted 10-29-2009 at 11:35 PM by Classical
Yeah, this entry is kind of random, but it's true! Having taken a look at the english wiki for J.C. Staff, the most recent show that has been licensed in which they were involved with the animation production is Nabari no Ō. There's a few other shows before it that haven't been licensed either, most notably Shakugan no Shana II (plus there's the OVAs and third season that are yet to be out) and Zero no Tsukaima seasons 2 and 3. I say notably because I loved what I saw of their first seasons...

Kanamemo: Anime Series Thoughts (Spoilers)

Posted 10-22-2009 at 10:48 PM by Classical
With the completion of another anime series, and a very fun one at that, I figured I'd talk about Kanamemo. A fair warning, there will be spoilers.

Kanamemo was one of the many shows I've gone into not knowing anything about. Actually, the only reason I tried it at the time I did was because I was testing out Crunchyroll's HD streams during their anime membership free trial. I actually got hooked onto the episode and wanted to watch more of it. Naturally, I stuck with...

Saki: Anime Series Thoughts (Spoilers)

With my viewing of Saki now finished, I felt like posting some thoughts on the series as a whole and what is it that I found to be so enjoyable about watching it. This would be way too long for a normal post anyways. Also, possible spoilers.

Right off the bat, one of the more enjoyable aspects of the show was the large cast of beautiful and cute girls. I seem to be drawn to series that have this feature and Saki is certainly no exception. One character who I happen to think is...

Kannagi's Opening is Addicting

I just got Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens Vol. 1 yesterday in the mail. I put the disc in the player and watched the opening. I have to say it's rather addicting for me. For one, I love the OP's song "motto☆Hade ni ne!," which I have no idea what it translates to, but it's awesome. Also, I just love the way Nagi's up on stage dancing and singing like an idol. I feel like a fanboy all over again. There aren't many OP's out there that I can think of where I...

Feeling Nostalgic: The Breath of Fire Series

Posted 07-23-2009 at 03:33 PM by Classical
Recently I've been feeling a little nostalgic in my reminiscing of the RPG series Breath of Fire. I'm particularly attached to this series, and it's kind of sad that there have been no new games in the series since Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter's release (though ironically, I have yet to play Dragon Quarter ). Anyways, my attachment to the series is a bit hard to explain, after all, it is one of the more traditional series out there so there isn't much that drastically sets it apart from...
