Yen Press [General Thread]

If there is anything you'd like to add or something that is incorrect, let me know and I'll edit the OP. Of course, feel free to post any updates regarding the respective publisher/series here.

Has Yen Press printed any omnibuses? I don't recall. But if they would start, I'd love for them to reprint and continue Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase. I'm on the second to the last volume Tokyopop printed. I'd love to finish this series and if I have to find the rest of them online, well....but I'd love to have the whole series uncensored.

They've done a few omnibus releases, including Azumanga Daioh, their editions of Dragon Girl, and certain volumes of Higurashi: When they Cry and Goong. They also have the forthcoming compiled releases of Umineko: When They Cry and Alice in the Country of Hearts: My Fanatic Rabbit. There could easily be more, as well...

That said, while Yen hasn't done too much in the way of license rescues, besides the aforementioned Alice, Yotsuba! and kinda Azumanga Daioh, I also wouldn't mind a rescue of Tsukuyomi.

If they could get the license to finish that I would definitely buy it. If I recall correctly there were not many volumes beyond the 12 that Tokyopop published.
EDIT 2: The ANN encyclopedia says that there are 16 volumes. I would be willing to commit to buying the last four volumes, individually or as an omnibus, if somebody would publish them.

They've been moving towards omnibus format recently (along with many NA publishers). Recently, Until Death Do Us Part is being released in omnibus, and same goes for the upcoming Thermae Romae and Blood Lad releases.

Though, as Junker said, YP isn't big on license rescues (for the most part). That said, YP has a few series that are wrapping up by the end of this year, so anything is possible. It never hurts to shoot them an email, saying how much you'd like to see it rescued, as it was never finished in the US.

There is also the possibility of Rightstuf's partnership with Tokyopop, doing the Print-On-Demand service.

Yen Press is currently running a contest on their Facebook page for a chance to win Hero Tales, volume 1 the complete Hero Tales anime on DVD (from FUNimation).

I hope next time they will run a contest with a price I would like to win. Like: The winner will be able to choose the next 4-Koma to be license! ^__^
