I wonder what's up with Season 1. I thought it might be a rights issue, but it seems the same company (Happinet Pictures) released both Season 1 and Season 2 on DVD. Maybe the Season 1 Blu-ray set just hasn't been listed on Amazon yet.

Then again, according to the Rokuga Jigoku blog, only Season 2 has been broadcast in HD on Kids' Station: http://catalina.blog.so-net.ne.jp/2012-10-03-5
No screenshots, so remember that just because it was broadcast in HD doensn't mean it's not an upscale. With King Records' track record, I definitely wouldn't recommend preordering this.

Ick, King Records are releasing it? What happened to Columbia? I thought they did all the DVD releases? I too would like to know where season 1 is. Dying to have this show on BD but no point buying season 2 without the first one.

Then again, if it was Columbia it might not be any better if their 2 over priced boxsets of Ashita no Joe which they never finished releasing is anything to go by. No idea what the quality was like but by god I loved that show. I bought the Taiwan release back in June and just could not stop watching it. Best show I have seen in a very, very, very long time and makes me hate modern anime even more than I already do.
