Episode 1
That was a very strong first episode.
I love Aki, she's even better than I was hoping for from the PV. And Kai is above average for male leads. He's no Okabe Rintarou, but I never expected him to be. I'm looking forward to meeting the other girls, particularly blondie (she sure had an interesting look on her face in the OP) and the dark skinned girl. And then there's the grey haired girl at the end. In most shows, I'd think she was just chuu2-ing, but here, there's a good chance she's *actually* a time traveler. This was one of the best first eps of the season and I'm pretty excited for where things can go from here.... but I'm a little concerned about that thing about the anime episode, as it seems destined to be a major plot point in the future and its already a little questionable. Doesn't help that the game apparently got pretty heavy negative reactions from people who have played it, and its generally unwise to expect anime to rectify shortcomings in the source material. Edit: And interesting that the ED focuses exlusively on the girl that just appeared at the very end of the episode. |
Re: Episode 1
Aki pretty much carried the whole episode while Kai was engrossed in his game and augmented reality app on his pokecom.
I am pretty excited to see them actually continue building the robot though. Quote:
Also, I've read a few reactions from people who have played the game and overall consensus was it was decent...nothing amazing or mindblowing say like S;G reactions. The thing is that R;N is a much different beast even though it's part of the science adventure series than S;G or C;H Someone online, forgot who, mentioned that the game is more science than adventure and how the series has shifted towards that with each subsequent game I have a copy of the game shipping to me at the end of the month...I'll try and play the game while watching the anime (sort of what I tried to do with Steins;Gate). |
Re: Episode 1
I like Aki a lot. Kai's acceptable.
Uhhh...it was fine. Really. Yeah. |
Re: Episode 1
Those two (Kai & Aki) in the robotics club sure were interesting characters.
Kai has some potential. Seems like he's not just an ordinary guy. So it's all about Gunvarrel, the robot that's insanely popular. Keeping the club, finishing the robot and winning the tournament. Screams easy.... doesn't it? LOL |
Re: Episode 1
My Steins;Gate successor is finally here! Eh... decent first episode, I guess. Aki seems to have all of Okabe's enthusiasm without a lot of his creativity, while Kai is just kind of there, likeable enough when he decides to do something. Steins;Gate didn't have the most exciting first episode, but it was clearly setting a lot of interesting plot up, while this is pretty standard. There's some mystery with the girl at the end (and starring in the ED), so I assume that will lead to something good, hopefully soon.

Re: Episode 1
The robotics club is down to two members, a boy who is a master at fighting games, and an energetic girl. They aim to build a robot, but require a massive budget, and facing an uphill battle. And then Airi shows up.
The show gets off to a strong start as it sets up the story nicely. At the very least, it starts off in a much less complicated manner than Steins;Gate did. Should be a great show as the first episode is great. |
Episode 2
Still love Akiho. She's fantastic. Love her little glasses schtick, but that's only slightly more amusing than anything else she does.
But that she's so fun and awesome in general just makes me more annoyed at the stuff near the end with her talking about how Kai should be the operator. No! She's the one with the passion for this! Why the fuck should the guy who doesn't give a shit be the one to achieve this for her? At least the elephant mouse syndrome is something new and unusual. On a brighter note, we met the cute karate girl, Daitoku Junna. She's voiced by Tokui Sora.... who also voices Sasami in Little Busters and has otherwise done slightly more than jack shit and her only notable prior role is Nero in Milky Holmes. |
Re: Episode 2
Wait she has attacks that do what? I don't even...the fuck?
Anyway, Aki's still amazing, and I don't really mind that Kai's the operator, since thats clearly the only thing he's good at. Jackass. Also yay karate girl and lol Passion Fruit Buns. |
