Recommendation for a young reader please??
Hi, I'm doing some late Christmas shopping right now and I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind giving me a manga recommendation. I have a step-sister who is 20 years old but she has some mental difficulties so her reading level and mental comprehension is around that of a 12 year old. I know that she really loves anime and hates reading, but I think that I could get her into reading mangas because it challenges her to read more and also satisfies her love of anime. I don't know much about manga because I haven't read any in 10 years, so I was wondering if someone could recommend some manga that would be appropriate for me to buy for someone like my step-sister. I was thinking something like the Howl's Moving Castle film in that it's a little cute, there is a little romance but it isn't to riskeh. Please respond soon! Thanks! :)

Yotsuba&!
Actually I'd recommend this manga to just about anybody. Cardcaptor Sakura may also be a good choice, as I don't remember much anything of this seeming too terribly difficult for young readers. 4komas (K-ON!, Haruhi-chan, Sunshine Sketch, etc) may also work, but I can't remember off the top of my head what the reading level for those would be. Though I doubt it'd be terribly difficult, and plus the fact that it's 4koma could be beneficial. As it'd give more opportunities for break points vs regular manga, if she'd need them. and then there's probably Pokemon if she's into that. Though I haven't read any of Viz's releases for it, but I assume it's at a low required reading level due to it's target demographic. oh and COWA! definitely COWA! Though what types of anime does your stepsister enjoy? Because that could give us a better idea of what to recommend overall. |

I'm not really sure which anime films she likes :\ Cardcaptor Sakura looks like it could be perfect though! Thanks so much!
