Instant pre-order, and the series I have the most nostalgia for since I watched it before any other Macross (other than Robotech as a kid, but I was too young to remember much of the experience).

I wonder if they'll also bring out a box of F next year, I passed on getting the singles when they came out and the 1st pressings are pretty expensive on the secondhand market now.

edit: And I wonder if Macross II on Blu-ray is a lost hope... Not sure if I particularly want to see it again, but it would be nice to have all of Macross on Blu-ray, though.

I still have it on VHS... Great stuff! Expensive rebuy though, price seems high for two discs even with the current discount but that isn't stopping anyone else, great ranking.

Hmm, but 5.1 audio for the Sharon Apple songs could make me rebuy.... So much for a lighter season...

Dont know why BV doesnt add English Subs to these releases... they have to know there is demand for this outside JP... and given the crap with HG none of this is gonna be licensed anytime soon.

Depends on how you read it... could be only the movie has English dubs/subs.

BV's page for it only mentions the English dub for the OVAs and Japanese subs. They're more likely to be correct, and CDJapan has made this sort of error before.

I inquired about the specs via email with Bandai Visual yesterday and got a response. It can be summed out below:

Macross Plus OVA includes both English and Japanese audio with Japanese subtitles (can be turned off). English subtitles is NOT included.

Macross Plus Movie Edition includes only the Japanese audio (original & new 5.1 channel mix). English subtitles is NOT included.

Excellent. Adding audio to a BD is a pain for me (syncing, fitting into max bitrate envelope...). I'm pretty good at just adding subtitles.
