Anime/Manga - AoD Review: Azumanga Daioh: Omnibus

It is certainly an attractive (and economic) alternative for those who never bought the individual volumes. But after seeing it I was glad that I had previously gotten the individual volumes.

Last time I was at the bookstore I saw this and my first impression was noticing the larger format in comparison to the single volumes (which themselves are somewhat larger then today's manga standard) and thinking to myself, "Darn. Too bad I already have this series!"

Then I picked it up to flip through it. The paper was noticeably thin in quality. The thin paper and large size of the book also seemed to make it somewhat unwieldy to hold in the hand. In my quick flip through I didn't notice the lack of colour pages, but after reading that in the review it makes me even more happy to have the single volumes.

So, yeah. If you haven't read this series and cost is an issue, go for the omnibus. Otherwise I really think the higher quality of the single volumes is worth the extra money.
