Summary Page - Similar to the old AnimeOnDVD Home Page
 

This was posted in the Non-Public Feedback forum, so I wanted to place it somewhere more public. Enjoy!




We whipped up a streamlined version of the Archive page.

We removed the filter box, added a few fields and truncated the stories to 255 characters.

This new page is a close approximation to the old AOD-style homepage and will probably serve as a much better landing page (especially for those that are worried about the sudden appearance of the NSFW images).

This new "summary page" is not linked on the main site yet, but it will be tomorrow. In the meantime, here is the link for your use!

Note that the above link contains News, Featured Columns and Reviews.

In my opinion, the biggest complaint I've seen is the change in homepage styles. While this isn't an exactly the same, I hope those of you that had a major problem with the new landing pages find this one much easier to use (as well as faster loading).


As I stated before - your concerns are our concerns. Keep the criticism constructive, but keep it coming! (Unless it's about Zoro - I can't tolerate criticism about someone skilled enough to use Santouryu).

You have some "..." in two of the links which causes them to just show the main page. I think they are supposed to be:

and

Edit: It seems to be a result of the copy&paste process. For some reason, one of the links I just typed out was automatically shortened with the "..." in it but it still links correctly.

Okay ... it looks somewhat familiar. But here's a suggestion to allow us to read more of the news across the page and make it even more familiar and comfortable to us ... move the "Mania - Trivia Quiz" and the "Mania News Feed" to either just above the news or directly below it at the bottom.

If you ask me personally ... I could do without it all together. I realize, however, that it may be something familiar and comfortable to the other fans of your site, so that's my idea for a compromise between the two looks.

If that's possible.

Also, why is Chris no longer posting his articles from the mania front page here?
